Very much enjoyed our stay
This roomy home provided character and comfort while in a great location. We were able to walk to town, plus, take an easy drive to hiking, the ski resort, and Asheville. Thanks for the small touches of snacks, coffee, and more!
Beautiful home in historic area, walking distance to Waynesville business district. We had 6 adults and were very comfortable. The short walk to town was a great way to exercise Hank. Also nice location near US 23 between WCU and Asheville. Close to Lake Junalaska and Maggie Valley. Thanks for sharing this home with us.
We had such a wonderful time in Waynesville, and the house is charming and well-located to downtown. The communication was great from start to finish, and we would highly recommend staying here. Thanks so much!
What an incredible vacation...this home lived up to everything promised, and more than exceeded expectations. It was exceptionally clean, well-appointed, and the location was perfect...close to Downtown Waynesville, but still felt nestled in the mountains while sitting on the porch. The surrounding neighborhood was historic, and the home itself was full of character and charm, with a full history of the house included in the foyer. Wonderful stay...we’ll definitely be coming back!
Enjoyed our stay! Home was clean and spacious for 7 adults and a dog. Home has washer/dryer, pots/pans, dishes, linens, towels, coffee maker, hair dryer, plenty of room for parking, not steep location, spacious rooms, outdoor patio and a/c. Only Wish it had a second shower but we were able to get ready for wedding in plenty of time. We will stay there again. Our Family lives nearby in Clyde and we were attending a wedding at Inn at Tranquility Farm which was only a 10 minute drive. Could take easy 5-7 minute walk to Main Street shops and food; four minute walk to Panacea coffee house and Frog Brewery. The downtown General store is quaint with a candy store on lower level. Town is pretty pet friendly. Centrally located - Take a 5-10 minute drive and you can be at Grocery stores, restaurants, Lake Junaluska, Maggie Valley, etc. Visit Ingles grocery - it’s the nicest grocery I’ve ever seen and I don’t like grocery shopping. Buttered Bisquit - well biggest biscuits no joke, lines are long but they get you in and out pretty quickly. Jack the Dipper - home made flavored waffle cones! Scenic walk around Lake Junaluska is a must! About an hour and half from Dollywood. Really nice area, so much more, it’s a must visit for sure.
Once again the Oak Chalet was exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay and the lodging was a big part of that. Would recommend to anyone. The owner was extremely responsive to our needs, gave attention to all details, and went above and beyond our expectations.
We absolutely loved our stay in Downtown Waynesville! It was the perfect location for enjoying the Smokeys. We hosted Thanksgiving at this home, and the house accommodated all of our needs.
This house is beautiful! We love this style of house, and it's clear this one has been well cared for. It's clear the house has been lightly renovated, but everything that's been done is tasteful and in keeping with the original style. The full bath has nice period touches, and the full and half baths are both a good size, though we thought the half bath could use a curtain or something covering the window in there. The window faces the rear driveway but could still stand to feel a little more private. The kitchen is well equipped and organized—we all thought the pot organizing racks they have in one cabinet were super cool. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to try the wood-burning stove. The house was plenty warm without it during our stay in early November. In terms of what's in the area, this house is less than a five-minute drive and ten-minute walk away from downtown Waynesville, where we went to a couple restaurants and breweries. If you're in the mood for coffee, there's also Panacea Coffee House, though the hosts provided coffee in the house. (...on top of assorted snacks, which was a nice touch!) We'll definitely look to see if this house is free the next time we stay in the area!
Great host! Fast responses. Beautiful house. Very Clean. Great locations walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Would recommend it to anyone and I plan on staying here again!
