Nestled on 5 acres of wooded land, this one-of-a-kind wooden cabin is a unique and serene retreat. The cabin's rustic charm is immediately apparent, with its weathered wood exterior and unique architecture resembling a bridge house. As soon as you step inside, you'll feel enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The interior of the cabin is just as impressive as the exterior, with a vintage grand piano taking center stage in the spacious living area. The open-plan design of the cabin allows for seamless flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, perfect for entertaining guests or spending time with loved ones.
Cross Creek House to major landmarks all within 30 minutes.
Simply beautiful nature and the quiet and peace of surroundings. So close to everything!
The property is beautiful and the home is charming. All the provisions were great so only improvement to suggest would be brighter bulbs for those gray days. Some areas of the home felt very dark. Will be a true stunner when you finish updating!
My husband and I rented Cross Creek house for our family Christmas. We drove from Florida and wanted a house for our family to gather on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Claire was very easy to communicate with and made sure the house had a tree and some Christmas decorations to make our stay even more homey. We loved sitting at the kitchen table watching the birds and nature all around us. Beautiful land and we enjoyed the home thoroughly!
I thought the concept of the house was awesome from first picture i saw. Plenty of space in and outside to feel like you have your own privacy, but things to do and food are literally 5-10 minutes away. Will definitely go again in warmer weather so we can enjoy the kayaks. Thanks to Claire for letting us use her home as ours.
Gorgeous property and close to downtown and New Albany!
We stayed for a family wedding in the area. Location was fantastic and a quiet comfortable house with everything you need. The property itself is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the creek and birds. Would definitely stay here again.
We booked this lovely spot as four moms looking for a sanctuary- a place for respite and renewal. This place delivered. As only three of us could spend the two nights, and the last visited for an evening, the three bedrooms were perfect for our group. There was plenty of room for us and all we wanted to do. Two of us didn't leave the property the entire time. Walking the grounds, experiencing the huge trees, enjoying the scenery, feeling the peaceful energy and all the critters was exactly what our souls needed. As you eat at the table indoors, a hummingbird would come say hi. The woodpeckers were boundless. As I ate outdoors early one morning, I was greeted by a cardinal and then a white squirrel. The next morning, the white squirrel and a deer said hello. The owner has lots of little things to help you enjoy your stay. Need scissors? They are on the counter with some art supplies! Forget your toothbrush? Don't worry, she has you covered! The towels and linens were thick and plush. I would love to come back to this home. It felt like home as soon as I walked in. To the discerning-this home is quirky. A window may have water damage preventing a tight closure, a blind missing in a window, doors leading to nowhere. The house has character and we loved it. I am VERY much a needs it to seem REALLY clean to feel comfortable when I travel and this place delivered. Maybe a large bowl here or there some prior renter didn't wash out properly surfaced....
Stayed for my daughter's graduation from OSU. We were able to enjoy a weekend in nature - fire pit, watching birds, relaxing by the creek - and be close enough to the University. Perfect place to stay.
Very nice property offering privacy in a country setting yet close to restaurants and shopping. Longhorn cattle across the road, nice views of the river, and birdwatching all from the large windows in the dining area.
We could not have asked for a more peaceful and fun home to celebrate our son's birthday. The property is gorgeous and allowed for hours of fun by the creek, lounging in the hammock, swinging, hanging out by the fire, and playing tag in the massive yard. The outer beauty of the property flows into the home with the tasteful decorations, numerous plants and natural light that flows through the many windows. We enjoyed the piano along with the provided puzzles and games and of course, we loved the room that goes right over the creek! We had beautiful fall weather and hope to return in the summer sometime to enjoy the tubes and kayaks! Two logistical things I would pass along especially to those planning a trip with young children... There are three bedrooms but only one has a door (downstairs) while the other two upstairs have privacy curtains. We also purchased our own drinking water due to the rust in the water at the home. These are not complaints as we LOVED our stay; they are just things we would share so others can plan accordingly ahead of time. Thank you for a wonderful time!!
Easy rental with no problems.
The property is amazing and has nice views. We stayed 3 nights and I must say it was wonderful. Lots of birds and squirrels to watch. Loved the spiral stairs that go from the kitchen to upstairs. It felt like home away from home. I would definitely stay here again. If you don't rent this home you are definitely missing out. Highly recommend.
My children (ages 10 and 12) stayed here to explore Columbus and visit family. We had a wonderful time. I wasn't sure how interested my kids would be in the creek but we spent 3 mornings and an evening kayaking, splashing, and looking for crawdads. It was perfect. Claire was super easy to communicate with. The home was close to downtown attractions but we still felt out in the country.
Unique home. Overall memorable experience. We hit some snags but host was very responsive. Fair warning- Winding stairs are challenging for the old and young. My child touched the door lock which locked us out the house- which we were warned about. But host was quite amenable. Not super clean- some dust, hair and spiderwebs all about, but great touches of home like games and paper for drawing for the kids. If you are the outdoors woodsy type you will love it.
This was such a wonderful property. The communication from the check-in to the check-out was exceptional. Everything was perfectly as described. I would highly recommend this great find to anyone searching in this area.
Even better than expected. Truly a comfortable home and sturdy build that compliments the location. We’ll appointed amenities, comfortable beds and furniture. We’ll stocked kitchen. Properties was well maintained. Bird feeders were stocked which allowed us to view numerous birds and squirrels—even an albino squirrel! Host recommendations were spot on. Worth a repeat stay.
We were in New Albany for my son’s wedding. Cross creek provides us the perfect home base for all of our events. We were within 10 minutes of the local church, the rehearsal dinnner, and the wedding venue. The upstairs was great for the groom and groomsmen getting ready for the wedding. The serene yard offered us some relaxation time in between the activities. It was very comfortable, unique, and had everything we needed. What more could you ask for!
