Let me start with the positives - this house is in an awesome location in Kings Beach (basically on Old Brockway Golf Course) where you can walk to the lake, downtown, grocery store, etc. Its a big house with 3br and 2bath with plenty of space for everyone and a fenced in backyard. Unfortunately the negatives heavily outweigh the positives: 1st - the property management company for this property, Vacasa is an absolute joke. It’s impossible to contact them, their response time is literally days, and when you eventually hear from someone they can’t offer any help. If this house was on fire and you contacted the management company, they’d get back to after the house had burned to the ground with a suggestion of where to buy a bottle of water 2 states away to try and put out the fire - useless - literally, that bad. 2nd - the house was not properly cleaned, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dirty clothes left in the house by previous guests, food left in the oven, and trash left in bedrooms. I tried to contact vacasa on these issues, but you can guess how far I got based on my previous comment. 3rd - this house is falling apart, the stove literally has rust hoes in it and the oven door is broken, the vent hood over the stove doesn’t work, the dishwasher leaks, the drain stops are missing everywhere, the fence is falling down in the backyard, the dryer does not work (clogged with lint), the electrical outlets are loose (your chargers will fall out). 4th - internet = bad
Amazing location 10 min walk into center of kings beach. Cute and charming cabin with great dvd collection. Old kitchen in need of new appliances but still functional to cook breakfast. We took our dog and he enjoyed it too! Very comfortable and homey. Internet was slow but functional - probably just mountain wifi.
Pros: All amenities were provided (towels, toiletries, kitchen items, game activities and movies). Knives being sharp is one of the key things for us and that was definitely a positive here. It’s a very convenient location for walking to the lakefront and short drive to Incline Village. A fenced backyard is a nice bonus for those traveling with pets and/or children. Cozy place and small neighborhood so it’s relatively quiet and feels secluded. Cons: Dish washer is not attached to the cabinetry and bottom rack is missing a wheel so if you have it loaded, it can catch on the door as you pull and the entire unit can slide away from the cabinetry. Two left burners on the range top do not auto ignite so need matches to light. (Not due to the owner) Appears a number of previous guests didn’t remove pet waste in backyard. Pros outweigh the cons and would consider renting again if returning to north side of Lake Tahoe.
We booked this property specifically to enjoy the outdoor patio and were surprised to find it is not as pictured. Instead of the comfortable couches shown in the listing, there are now six plastic rocking chairs which were not very comfortable. The furniture and patio were covered with pine needles and a thick layer of yellow pollen which required a good amount of cleaning on our part. As another reviewer mentioned, the kitchen appliances all need to be replaced. The oven door is wonky and when we tried to use the oven to heat some food, we had to turn it off because there was a strong smell of gas. One of two grills in the backyard was completely unusable because the hood was crushed and couldn't be opened. The other grill was very dirty. Overall, the cabin is very tired and needs updating. There was a large roll of carpet in the living room so perhaps they plan to remove the current matted carpeting. We were pretty disappointed with our stay. Definitely would not rent again
Oven was in poor shape. Dishwasher seemed to be leaking, we did not try it. Was a towel under door when we arrived. Sconce on front of house was upside down. Other than those items, I was very impressed with the property. Nice big rooms and plenty of space for myself and my family.
We liked this home a lot. Fenced Backyard is excellent for kids and dogs. Beds are all comfortable with lots of extra blankets. Only one wine glass was the only disappointment but we enjoyed our stay very much.
We really enjoyed our stay. Wish the heater worked a little better but other than that everything was perfect. Quaint little cabin that easily and comfortably fit four adults and two teenagers!
We will return to stay in Kings Beach Lake Tahoe!!
The home is located in a peaceful neighborhood and walking distance to the beach, volleyball courts, shops, golf course, and grocery store.
This spot is ideal location that is close to the beach and many walking trails. We were a family of 6 adults and found this home comfortable for us all.
