Cozy Cove Retreat w/ Arcade & Fireplace

This property was great for a long weekend away with my family of five. The property was awesome. There was a fire pit, swings, hammock, hot tub, and large deck.. It was quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of space for myself and my family of 5. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, silverware, etc. The downstairs was great with darts, a pool/ping pong table, and card games and board games. The couches downstairs were very comfortable as well. It is a great place, but I gave it 4 stars for a few reasons. -The house is literally at the mouth of the lake. It is murky, shallow, muddy water. You can’t really fish because of it. Also, there is no swimming. In front of the boat dock is such a tiny place with no real-or safe-entry. The decor is simplistic, which goes with the cottage feel, but the bathrooms and bedrooms could use an update. Another thing to mention is they use down/feather pillows. If you are allergic, bring your own pillows. Because we didn’t have a boat, we had to drive everywhere as it’s not close to the main part of Deep Creek Lake. If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would. We really did enjoy our stay, but definitely rent a boat for easy access to all that Deep Creek Lake has to offer.

The home was well kept and clean with great access to the lake. My issues are the fact that the selling point was the fireplace, hot tub, and canoeing. The wood was damp so I had to go forage for dry wood and eventually purchase wood. There was no access to paddles or life vests to canoe, and the hot tub was 70 degrees. There were no directions as to how to increase the temperature. I contacted maintenance andThey promptly came to show me hot to increase temp. When he arrive the temperature was 69 degrees. He set it to the highest setting 104 and said that the tempt would rise 5degrees per hour. 3 hours later and the temp was 71 degrees. Prior to me checking out the following morning and closing up the jacuzzi, the temperature was 80. Not having the jacuzzi working properly and not having access to canoeing was very disappointing! I would love to have partial refund to rectify my disappointment for these property amenities.

Overall it was in a great location and the house is lovely. However, there were some cleanliness issues relating more to the outdoor areas including issues with the hot tub, and trash/ broken glass around walkways and fire pit. Also be prepared to bring your own hand soaps, trash bags, shampoos, etc.

The property and location is nice, but the house needs a deep clean and maintenance. Dusty fans, stained linens/blankets. The kitchen faucet is in very poor condition, a door to the outside porch doesn’t lock, and the towel rack in the downstairs bathroom is broken. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub not working and wouldn’t heat up and the fireplace in the downstairs isn’t hooked up so it was freezing in the downstairs area. I feel that it was too expensive to stay here to have all of these issues. On top of that there is no toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, or hand soap at the home. We couldn’t even find a broom or cleaning supplies to straighten up throughout our stay.

Nice neighborhood, very quiet and tranquil. My daughter loved the downstairs game room.

Rented to celebrate my 60th with friends. The house and area are amazing. Everything was fantastic!!

Beautiful house and property nestled in a wooded setting. Lots of room indoors and out. Very peaceful. Great place to get away and recharge.

Very clean and open house. Beautiful and relaxing. We had one minor issue with the hot tub which was resolved very quickly.

Good place with something for everyone.

The cleaners should address the outside decks as part of the routine cleaning. Do not promote swimming in the cove because it was disgusting.
