Cozy cottage get-away that fits up to 4 people with a view of the water from the cottage. The beach and entertainment just a short walk away, and a beautiful large deck across the street over Lake Winnipesaukee that you can swim off of and/or jump in off the diving board, enjoy our kayaks (2) and a blow-up paddleboard, take in the gorgeous views, watch all the fun activity on the water, the gazebo, and SO much more! We own this deck and it is shared with the house next door and no one else. There are also lots of great restaurants, ice cream places & miniature golf that are all walking distance from the cottage. *Must climb stairs to get to dock and bring bed sheets & towels (if this is a problem, let us know and I’ll try to include them).
This property and host were great! A minute walk and we were on a large dick overlooking the bay. Great way to finish the day. Karen, the Host, went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for the stay, long before we arrived. A few different restaurants within walking distance made this ideal.
Cabin is in a great location, very quiet, very comfortable, with great features. Would definitely return again when I'm in the area.
We arrived to this very pleasant little lake house after a 4 hour drive and upon opening the door were greeted with a very inviting atmosphere. We fit 2 adults, 2 children, and a 9 month old quite comfortably. It was just exactly the right amount of room for us. We had so much fun utilizing the kayaks and deck/swimming area. Very cool. The kids had a blast and so did we. It was definitely relaxing. The host, Karen, was very attentive and helpful from booking to check out. The cabin was very clean and well kept. We were within walking distance from breakfast, lunch, and ice cream and took advantage of being in the heart of Alton Bay. Our only complaint is that we wished we could stay here for longer! Great experience. Thank you Karen.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We got in some fun lake time - swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding off the huge deck. We went to a concert in Gilford which was only about 20 minutes away. Our host Karen was super helpful and accommodating, and the cottage had everything we needed and was super clean. We hope to come back again real soon. Thank you for such a great stay!
My husband and I were road-tripping through New England, and are so happy we found this cottage! The house was very clean and cozy, the bed is super comfy and shower was way huge and perfect for tall people. I think my favorite part was the private dock. It rained while we were there, but it was so nice sitting on the lower deck under the tall deck and just taking in the gorgeous scenery. The water was still very warm so we got to enjoy swimming and paddle boarding. There are plenty of shops and restaurants a walk or short drive away. We ended up going to squam lakes nature and science center which was so fun! Highly highly recommend this stay, I hope we get to come back!
The house is compact and a miracle of engineering. Karen was a great owner. Good and friendly communication.
photos were misleading, cute space but run down and smelled of Febreze which made me think the bedding was not washed between guests. Picnic table was run down and ruined my jeans, and overlooked a gravel parking lot. Virtually no views of lake from windows, due to overgrown trees. There was an argument between a couple people outside our window at 2:30 AM, loud enough to wake me up. We only stayed one night out of the 3. The Wifi worked 20% of the time. The screen door was broken, the draw in the kitchen nearly fell out every time you opened it. It was too bad, but live and learn
We enjoyed staying here. Close to lake and eating joints. We walked everywhere.
We had a very nice, relaxing stay at this little cottage. We really enjoyed the kayaks, water floats, and noodles that were available. The deck overlooking the bay was wonderful. The property owner was very attentive and responsive.
Great location with lots to do around town. We were there for a wedding and this spot was a perfect touchdown place for us and our dog to relax. There was a great breeze off the lake and with all the windows, we never needed to turn on the AC. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area. Thanks guys!!
We needed a quick getaway from the Boston area. This cute little cottage was about an hour and a half from our place and perfect for just the two of us and our dog. It's a short walk from shops and dining in Alton Bay. We saw a group of 6 loons. I never knew they didn't just hang out in pairs.
Extremely easy to make reservations, located at the end of basically a private road. Check in process was simple. The view from the dock/deck was amazing and great for boat owners. My one and only negative is beyond anyone’s control, the steepness of the stairs and the crossing of the road is not the best for people with infant or toddlers. The cottage is an awesome romantic get away!!
