The house is well decorated and appointed, and was comfortable and a great option for our family (including our golden retriever). Would definitely consider again next time we are in the area!
It was great would come and stay again.
We enjoyed it. Den in the back is cool. Plenty of space. Would recommend.
Seven adults stayed for two nights and, though we were out and about a lot for a family wedding, we really enjoyed our time here. They stocked the cottage with everything you could expect. One review said the kitchen and cottage itself were quite small, but we certainly didn't feel that way. Plenty of parking space, great bathrooms, and pretty comfy beds. Tons of closet space in the master bedroom for everyone's clothes. Smelled good, looked great, and felt very comfortable. We didn't have time to really enjoy the firepit or adorable pub/darts room this time, but we'll be back for another visit!
We’ll equipped .. clean… and convenient to Asheville…. Nice pub/ game room and lots of TV’S for Rainey days… dog friendly…..
Clean, comfortable and spacious. Very relaxing vacation, loved the covered porch, bonus room with bar and the well equipped kitchen. Also close to town and not too far from area attractions. House is located in a nice wooded area. We were actually visited by a family of bears our last night. We could hear some traffic noise from the highway when outdoors but indoors it was very quite. We would definitely stay there again.
Well equipped and well located to visit trails in Montreat and blue ridge pkwy. Check in was slow to respond but otherwise smooth. Love the horses next door and the porch
Visiting daughter and fiends that live in Asheville and we all stayed at this Cottage. Cottage is unique, spacious and pet friendly. We did some things in and around Asheville but really enjoyed Black Mountain and the proximity to the cottage. Did some nice hikes close to Black Mountain and enjoyed a couple of the highly rated restaurants.
Nice and clean : )
I rated this house 5 stars on all questions but here is the real scoop on this house. Although it is large in square feet, this oddly arranged house felt cramped. The kitchen was tiny with no dishwasher. It did have a huge farm house kitchen sink but there was no good way to wash just a few dishes. The cabinets are so high, my mother could not reach anything in them. The game room was only accessible by going through the master bedroom AND master bath or from outside. The living room was tiny with just one couch and two very small rocking chairs. The master bedroom was huge but the the bedroom with the queen size bed was cramped for two adults. The one inside table for dining could not comfortably sit more than 4 people. Although there is sleeping for 9, that is too many people for this house. I would not rent again.
We had a wonderful time at Mockingbird Cottage! My family and I came up for a short weekend and the cottage was a great place for a girls weekend getaway. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was perfect weather to sit out on the porch. It's close enough to Black Mountain for a quick trip and there are plenty of hiking options nearby. Would definitely stay again!
