Look no further for the perfect mountain getaway! Mount Rainier Chipmunk Cabin sits on a corner lot full of ferns, cedar trees, and rhododendrons in the High Valley neighborhood (see map for location and proximity to other neighbors). We are on a quiet cul-de-sac with 60 acres of Gifford Pinchot forest across the street. The Cowlitz River is just a 5-minute walk away. We are close to Packwood town, minutes from hiking trails, 17 miles to White Pass Ski Resort, and 20-25 minutes from Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park entrances. This updated cabin is full of amenities that perfectly combine the nature of the Pacific Northwest with the comfort of fine lodging.

THE CABIN: 1 bedroom, 1 open loft bedroom, 3/4 bath, sleeps 5. All mattresses and linens are high-quality. High-speed internet throughout the house, and keyless entry.
Bedroom 1 (lower level): Queen bed, dresser, closet, nightstands, and reading lights
Bedroom 2 (upper, open loft): King bed, twin futon, dresser, closet, nightstands, and reading lights
Main room (lower level): chaise sofa, wood-burning stove/fireplace, smart TV with Netflix, YouTube Live TV, Hulu, Nintendo Switch, and large dining room table make for comfy nights of entertainment.
Remodeled kitchen (lower level): includes all major appliances and amenities to cook most any meal you could want. Washer/Dryer in separate building just off the back porch.
Outdoors: 7-person hot tub, Weber BBQ, picnic table, stringed lights, and outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs take living and enjoying the great outdoors to the next level! There is no fence, so please keep pets on leash (requirement of High Valley Community). There is a garage on the property that is for owner use only.

Our housekeepers are putting extra care into cleaning and sanitizing high-touch surfaces after every guest. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, or if you would like a copy of our cleaning and disinfection procedures.

We have taken great care to create the best possible home and environment for all types of different guests. We have been told we have covered every detail, and we stand strong behind the work and care we put into this vacation rental house. Thanks for considering a booking with us, and we hope you give us a chance to treat you to a lovely stay.

Note about traveling to Packwood: Please check pass information if you are visiting outside of summer months. Cayuse Pass (HWY123) and Skate Creek Rd. (FR 52) are impassable for many months even though your GPS may tell you otherwise. Cayuse Pass is a beautiful way to arrive from the Seattle area, but it is only open June - Oct. Skate Creek Rd. to and from the Nisqually entrance of Mt. Rainier is scenic as well, but is closed often in winter and even spring months. The most certain way to arrive from the Seattle and Portland areas is to go through Morton and enter on HWY 12. Scenic White Pass Highway (HWY 12) is cleared and kept open all year long. You can find updated information at the Washington Dept of Transportation website: https://www.wsdot.com/traffic/passes/

Perfect base camp. The whole family enjoyed the stay with the White Pass ski resort just 30 mins away, especially the hot tub after a long day on the slops. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, including wood for evening fires.

We loved this cabin. The beds were comfy and the kitchen and living space were in great condition. The outside space and hot tub were lovely and the laundry was very helpful for our young family. There were awesome maps (we hiked in Rainier during our stay), and a ton of unexpected extras. 10/10 would stay again.

Communication with the owner was excellent. The home had modern appliances for cooking and doing laundry, which made our stay easy and comfortable. We used this location as a base for exploring Mount Rainier National Park. In the late afternoons, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, and the boys were thrilled to play Nintendo while we cooked dinner.

I couldn’t be more in love with the Chipmunk Cabin than I am! It was clean, cozy, and SO cute. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax after hiking in Mount Rainier. Tricia and Kyle were wonderful hosts! The information they leave in the welcome binder is very informative and detailed. They have a well stocked house and seem to have thought of everything. I hope I am able to stay here again, and would definitely recommend their place to a friend.

We had an amazing time visiting Mt Rainier national park and staying at this property. The property/cabin was very clean and fully stocked with intentional items and amenities. The owners thought of everything! It was so charming! The place was quiet and had plenty of outdoor seating for morning coffee/ evening times and was nestled among trees/ferns adding privacy..and the hot tub / comfy beds were an added bonus after hiking all day. The owners were very responsive and generous! We will most definitely be back.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. Everything was absolutely picture perfect for what we were hoping for. In the middle of the mountains, a small cute town nearby to get food and ice cream, so many hikes and beautiful views all around, and an easy to use and functioning hot tub! We also love to rest and watch our shows, and the tv was super easy to use and had every streaming option available! The host made everything with check in, check out, and using items on the property so easy and accessible. We also were able to do a load of laundry before we left and had a cozy bonfire in the backyard! All around, perfect oasis for people wanting to glamp, get beautiful views and also enjoy spending time at the cabin.

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Chipmunk Cabin more. It was the perfect getaway for my husband’s 50th birthday. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and more. This is the second time we've stayed here for the weekend in order to go skiing multiple days at White Pass. The cabin just fits our family of five. Note that the futon is not the most comfortable for adults, but is fine for kids. The queen bed is very comfy. The kitchen is well stocked and clean. The bathroom is small but clean and with a nice shower. Great location, close to many dinner options in Packwood and only about 30-45 minutes to the White pass ski area. My only suggestion would be to do some deep cleaning as it seems a bit more dusty than the previous year, with cobwebs in corners and hair/dust build-up in multiple areas, such as the bedside tables. Nothing terrible, just a minor thing I noticed.

This cozy cabin was such a nice place to spend a few days at. We went snowboarding at White Pass which isn't too long of a drive. Only half an hour. The place can get cold at times but they have heaters around the place. The hot tub was amazing and the kitchen and whole house is stocked!! You don't need to worry about anything if you are cooking. My wife and I loved our time here with our newborn son for our 4-year anniversary trip. The cabin worked perfectly for us, close to many hiking trails and natural areas, and was close to town for us to grab any last-second groceries. Bonus pro-tip: there's a short walk through the woods from the cabin that gets you to the river. Gorgeous area. We hope to be back again next year!

Three sisters on their yearly vacation get together for two weeks. The cabin is so fully stocked that it made our stay extremely enjoyable and the hot tub after a day’s hiking was wonderful. The book with all instructions was great and if you have any problems Verbo contacts the owner whom takes care of everything in aShort time frame. The cabin was clean and wood provided for fire place and outdoor fire pit. Having a washer and dryer was great and extra frig in the laundry room was a plus. If you rent this cabin you can go wrong and your stay will be beyond your expectations.

For starters, the town of Packwood is adorable and in a perfect location if yoy plan to visit both Sunrise and Paradise Corridor. The cabin is easy to find and has everything you need. Noteworthy is how it is stocked like a home not just a VRBO. Quality kitchen stuff, down to the utensils. Lots of games on hand to keep you entertained. Linens and towels are also good and plentiful. Instructions are super clear but of yoy have any questions we found Teicia to be exceptionally reapinsove. We would certainly stay here again!
