Fabulous 3 bedroom 2 bath Katahdin log home perched on a wooded one acre parcel with filtered views of Whiteface Mountain. This home has approximately 2200 sq feet of living space with features to include, quality craftsmanship throughout, floor to ceiling windows, hardwood floors, custom kitchen with granite countertops, large master bedroom ensuite with jacuzzi tub, cathedral ceilings in great room, and two wood stoves. Located close to Whiteface Ski Center and Lake Placid.
Absolutely beautiful cabin and extremely clean! My husband and I are very particular and this cabin exceeded our expectations. We usually reclean everything before we get settled in a place and there was absolutely no need to because it was so immaculate and cozy already! The view of Whiteface Mountain from inside the cabin was gorgeous! The kitchen was fully equipped and the outdoor grill was perfect for preparing all my meals. Plenty of linens and towels provided which was great. Even though we always bring our own paper towels and toilet paper, there was plenty in the cabin. I loved that there was a first aid kit in the cabin “just in case”. The cabin is well thought out by the host. The host, Lucas, was very responsive and checkin was very easy. Location of the cabin was great. Only 20-25 minute drive to Lake Placid and surrounding area. My husband climbed Mount Marcy and it was about a 20-30 minute drive out that way as well. We also took a drive to see the Ausable Chasm which was really great. Overall the cabin and area was amazing and I would definitely consider coming back again. If we lived a bit closer, we would make a trip more often. Incredible stay!
Listing says 4 bathrooms, there are 2. Pictures are deceiving in regards to accessing back of house (firepit area) and bringing your belongings in and out, esp for the price of this house. The woods have a great supply of firewood, didnt have to buy any, great view of the top of Whiteface, comvenient location for biking and hiking.
First off the house is huge and clean. It was a great base to hang out with my family (8 adults). Plenty of room for games, places to read, and it is in a good location just north of everything in the high peaks region of the ADKs. The downside which can all be fixable by the host and I hope these things are fixed. First off when we got there for a week long stay there were 5 rolls of toilet paper, 3 dish washer pods, and no liquid hand soap. Our host quickly sent someone over to fix it. Secondly, while the kitchen is nice there were a few basic things missing the biggest being measuring cups (large dry measures, TSP/TBSP). There were two wet measuring cups, but one was cracked. Kinda feel that these are basic supplies that should be in a kitchen. When asked for them the host told me to go buy them at a store on my own dime. Lastly on VRBO when you search this place it says there are 4 bathrooms. There are only 2 which shows in the pictures, but this needs to be fixed in how it is listed. Also there is only one shower and then a jacuzzi tub which is kinda weird. Not trying to leave a negative review just one that gives an honest assessment of the place since there are no reviews up to this point.
