An urban cottage. It's not ultra-modern, it's grandma's place updated. Clean and correct. Hulu and Amazon Prime on the digital TVs in the bedrooms. USB charging stations in both bedrooms. Fireplace in the living room, but no TV there, it's a living room :-)
Well-equipped efficiency kitchen (small) coffee maker, new pans, gas range, dishes, silverware (not sterling) newer washer and dryer in the basement. the bedroom upstairs has dual remote controls for the lights.

The space
2 car off-street parking, but who needs a car here I guess if local friends want to visit.

Guest access
Just a 2.9-mile walk from the US Bank stadium and SuperBowl if you take the scenic route past the Walker Art Center and the sculpture garden. 0.9-mile walk to Utepils Brewing Company, Walk to Sparks Restaurant in 0.2 miles. When you are ready for a faster-paced scene it's only a 2.9-mile ride to the WestEnd area or 2.7 miles to the Smack Shack and all the great watering holes in the North Loop district.

Interaction with guests
We work downtown and live close by. Have an urgent need, we can be there in 15 minutes. Needs more TP or Peat's Coffee and we can drop it by the next AM.

Our Host was very responsive and helpful anytime we had to contact them during our stay. The area is a very quiet and relaxing neighborhood! Would stay again!

The good: Excellent location and pet-friendly. Located on a quiet street and immediately adjacent to a lovely city park. A comfortable walking distance to an excellent neighborhood coffee shop. The washer and dryer in the basement were also a plus for us since we had been traveling extensively prior to our stay. The bad: The living room furniture was quite dingy and rather unpleasant to even sit on. During our stay, the refrigerator door would not close properly. This cottage has lots of latent charm but the main level decor is quite bad and in disrepair so we did not feel comfortable. The ugly: Similar to previous guests, we noticed visible black mold growing on the wall in the hall coat closet adjacent to the bathroom (perhaps caused by a leak from the upper level bath). We cannot recommend this property and would not stay again.

This was a super cute little house!! I really loved the small northern feel of it. We came from Tennessee! I was worried from my husband Googling the address that it may not be in a great spot, but we were totally wrong! It’s a very nice and quiet neighborhood! Our only tiny complaint is, I knew there were stairs, but they are tiny and steep. I initially thought my son (16) and dad would stay together, however he wouldn’t have made the stairs! But the upstairs room was super cute and we loved it!

My family loved our stay. The upstairs was perfect for my teens to have their own space. We were all very comfortable and enjoyed the charm that an older home brings. Loved the neighborhood. There’s a nice park across the street and a coffee shop walking distance. It’s also right off the highway. Would stay again.

If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in downtown Minneapolis, this is it. The location is convenient, just not updated. Not the cleanest, lots of cob webs, and a little bit of visible mold. A good host who was very pleasant, and easy to work with, and very responsive to any questions we had.

Property was much more dated than it appeared in pictures. It was clean, but it smelled like my grandma's house. It would be helpful to have furniture to set luggage on in the main bedroom.

Great location surrounded by parks and easy access to anywhere in the metro. Had everything we needed for a quick trip to see family with our dogs in tow.

I wasnt expecting modern or new, but furnitire was in disrepair, a leg on table looked like it had been glued together, shelf over fireplace wobbly and sliding, bed broken and rusty frame, tried to close bathroom vent and it was bot attached to wall. Shower has liners on both sides that werent clean and they wanted to suction to you while showering. Did feel like i was staying at grandmas place that hasnt been upkept. Wrong time of year bc if heat wasnt blasting, it was freezing due to drafts in home. There was a hole in floor by my headboard and bed sat on 2x4. Barely any outlets so bring a surge protector if you have a cpap or phone chargers to plug in. The hall closet had a vent going to upstairs covered in black mold that is slightly terrifying. Zero instuctions on what to do for check out, usually there is a binder for those not familiar with area and what host wants done before leaving or if allowed to use fireplace. Responding to messages took hours. The back yard was not usable, over grown and looks like a tree might have fallen and torn up ground, trashcan filled with ice and yard waste in walk way, basement was not clean, not sure if i was able to use washer but opted not to. I dont know area or going rates and this wasnt the cheapest option available, but tried to find something close to moa as visiting for my daughters birthday and wanted a close option and lots of recent great reviews that were misleading to me choosing this over others.

The property was ok for the most part. We were there for an agility trial with our dogs, so we did not spend a lot of time in the unit. Check in - I received an email with the keys to our trip, but when we tried to access check in details, there was nothing. So, we were standing there with no way to access the unit. I had to reach out to the owner and we did finally get the code to the lockbox and front door, but it took about 45 min. Check out - There were no check out details, so we just put out the garbage, we left the recycling in the house because there weren't any bags and we were not sure if we should just pile it in the bin outside. The pictures don't show the stairs to get to the upstairs bedroom, but they are VERY, VERY steep and coming down was a bit concerning as the stairs were narrow. Also, it was quite warm out when we were there (sept 12 - 16, 2024) and the Air Conditioning was working but it did not seem to be reach the upstairs bedroom, so it was very stuffy and quite warm. My friend and I ultimately decided to share the downstairs bed which was not ideal, but we managed. The bathroom was clean as was the bedroom, but there was no dish soap to clean any of our dishes, and the stove looked like it needed a good cleaning. There was a fantastic park across the street where we spent lots of time with our dogs. It is a lovely neighborhood and we were a short car ride from restaurants, Costco etc.

Good property overall that could use a bit of updating, but overall a solid value for the price as the location is perfect (across large park to walkn̈playand splash pool and just off the freeway near downtown)

Very quiet and dog friendly neighborhood! Very impressed with the location, trails around the ballpark to walk my dog were very convenient. This cottage is a cute little place to stay and was exactly as expected based on the listing and reviews. I would definitely stay here again if returning to the area!

We took our son and his friend to a concert at the Target center along with some sightseeing. We saw Paisley Park and the Mall of America. It was a great getaway and a perfect location.

Even in the pouring rain this property was so perfect and exactly what our family needed for the holiday weekend. We landed earlier than expected and were able yo check in right away. Host had everything setup and the house was all the charm of an old cottage that we were looking for. In set shelving and old fireplace and all the hard wood floors! Plus the upstairs loft was perfect for the kids to have their own little suite. We absolutely fell in love with the old house and we’re so thrilled to stay in this wonderful little time capsule. The Bryn Mawr neighborhood tho is the real treat. This little house is nestled in a magical little place just 10 mins from all the downtown activities but in a world all its own. The cottage is just a ten minute walk to the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary that we didn’t unfortunately didn’t get to experience due to weather but is on our list for our next trip. If you are considering going to Minneapolis we would 10/10 recommend this place if you are looking for an easy, affordable, one of a kind stay
