Crescent City, California
Welcome to the Riverhouse - a handsome country home located on 2 acres of pristine river front property with redwood forest, private river access, and beautiful river canyon views. Staying at the Riverhouse means enjoying all the benefits of a rural setting on the wild and scenic Smith River. Endless outdoor opportunities are all within minutes, including kayaking, fishing, hiking trails, biking, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Also only 15 minutes from Crescent City and ocean beaches. Or, simply stay at the property in the serene surroundings.
Property was clean, quaint and beautiful. We had everything we needed and more. The owner failed to mention that there were redwoods on the property which was a bonus. We enjoyed playing in the river, playing pool and relaxing. It was a great starting point for our adventures to the Redwoods in The cresent City beaches. Our family cannot recommend this any higher. We would give it 10 stars if we could!!
Amazing place
Excellent
Great space for a small family outing. This home has a large yard and is in a very quiet and peaceful location, equidistant from the Oregon border and Crescent City. The only downside was the river access. it’s a bit treacherous as the steps are slanted towards the river rocks below, it’s a pretty good drop if you were to fall. Luckily within a few minutes drive, there’s a county park across the river and Jed Smith park both with easily accessible swim areas. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again in the future.
Spacious house in the country.! Big yard. Great view of the river from the house and yard. Very quiet. Extremely quiet. Approx 15-20 minute drive to Crescent City. Daily adventure to see redwoods. I enjoyed using the charcoal grill. It’s time for the cleaning people to clean the dead bugs from the window sills. We enjoyed ourselves
Fantastic property with amazing views, relaxing scenery, and fun games. Great communication from the host and a clear check-in/check-out process. There’s nothing quite like waking up to enjoy a view from the back window with some coffee or tea. The kitchen is a great size to do any cooking for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. It was amazing to already have some firewood available to use for the fireplace and pit outside - s’mores are a must here! If a fire isn’t your preferred way to stay warm, there is a heat pump to keep you cozy as you enjoy your stay. The location of the property is great, close to the coastline, Crescent City, the Redwoods, and of course right on the river. There’s no wrong way to spend time when you’re at the this property. Whether it’s enjoying the views and fun the property has to offer or are off exploring the nearby lands and water, enjoyable memories will be made.
This is a unique and wonderful property in a perfect location - right on the Smith River. There are large windows so we spent a great deal of time sitting in the living room watching the river flow by. The property itself is beautiful, with several outbuildings, nice lawn, a unique 'fort' build among the redwoods, fire pit, and a set of stone steps going down to the river. Just upriver there are houses on both sides of the river, but from this property one cannot see any houses on the north side of the river at all, and there are only a few on the south side (where this property is) so it felt like we were in the wilderness. I kept expecting to see a bear on the gravel bar! Crescent City is fairly close and easy to get to, and there are many hiking trails and beaches to explore nearby. This was such a special place we are debating making this an annual retreat.
This property was in a good location for what we wanted to do and see on our trip. The home was adequate and comfortable for our family and we really enjoyed ourselves.
This property was absolutely beautiful. Very wide open and comfortable. Much more space than expected. The river was such a treat to watch thru living room window. Also, my dogs enjoyed the huge yard. What a perfect getaway.
Our family enjoyed our stay at the Smith River House. The views are beautiful and the property is lovely. We enjoyed exploring the two acres, playing horse shoes, checking out the tree house, and taking the stairs down to the river. In the evenings the pool table always had a game going. The kitchen was well stocked. The oven worked well enough but, could stand to be repaired or replaced. Day trips to Trees of Mystery, Fern Canyon, and the beach were easy from this location. We really enjoyed the feeling of staying in nature at this house. We hope to come back again. Thanks Dylan for your help in making this a trip to remember!
