We loved the peace and quiet, no one banging the walls and cranking cars and bikes in the middle of night. We recommend this all day long. Joe T.
Clean and groomed. Designed site layout maximized views.
All was very good for our stay. One item of note but not of concern for our trip. The wifi appeared slow and at times intermittent. It was not neede for our trip and we never addressed it with the property owner, but it could have an effect for a trip if business needs to be conducted while traveling.
The house was nice and clean with plenty of space for 4 adults. We came to Fredericksburg for a girls weekend and it was just perfect. Close enough to town to enjoy everything we wanted to see and far enough out to be quiet and peaceful. Thank you so much for the use of your charming little house.
Absolutely loved the stay. So much peace and quiet and we adored seeing the wildlife in the front yard. It was a very beautiful experience. Thank you!
Willow Knoll is a great place to getaway and recharge. The hosts are very friendly and approachable. Will definitely come back again. The cleanliness of the cabin was remarkable. Had everything you needed and enjoyed being able to cook some of our meals and relax in the evenings. The wildlife provided plenty of entertainment with the deer, ducks, bird watching, and squirrels.
Wonderful peaceful getaway. We explored many of the attractions of the hill country from here. It was nice returning to a peaceful place after 12 hour days exploring the hill country. The drive to town is some distance but it goes fast when looking at all the scenery.
Great getaway. Lots of wildlife. Coffee in morning, wine in the evening-- on the porch. Humming birds entertaining. Missed the Jack Rabbits. Great host.
Loved this place out in the country. The owners were very friendly and the peace and quiet was much needed. Perfect place for relaxing and catching up with our daughter. We will certainly be back !
Perfect quiet country spot. Exactly what I was looking for.
Absolutely love staying here, this time I brought my daughter and we had a lovely, relaxing time! As always the home is spotless and well stocked with anything we would need. Quiet yet close to everything we wanted to do, and the time spent sipping wine and coffee while watching the hummingbirds was priceless! We will be back this fall:)
Jim and Irene are terrific hosts. Communication was great, as was the place itself. We loved being out of town, but close enough. Excellent base for a stay in the Hill Country!
Nice little place that is far enough out to be quiet and reasonably priced, yet close enough to lots of activities! Hosts are very friendly and the location is great! Thank You
Accommodations were excellent. Even though property is at the corner of two FM roads it was peaceful and private. Host were more than accommodating. Had wildlife visitors each morning and evening that grandkids enjoyed watching. Would absolutely stay again.
The house is immaculate. The host was extremely nice. 100% on everything.
Will definitely stay here again
This place is out of the way. You can enjoy the city of Fredericksburg within minutes and retire for the night in a comfortable, peaceful cabin surrounded by huge shade trees and too many deer to count. We had fun and would definitely stay again while in the area! Jim is very attentive and friendly making sure our stay was amazing.
Wish we could've stayed longer
Very nice place to stay. Owners are very nice folks. Very clean and in great condition. Comfortable little place for a couple of folks to have a quiet getaway.
Jim and Irene have a beautiful property with lots of wildlife. Loved having meals on the porch with the deer and birds in front of us. Excellent views of the stars. Hosts are friendly and helpful. AC works well even in triple digit heat. Very clean with comfy beds. Will be back on future trips to the area.
Great property owner and my family enjoyed their stay!
This was our second stay at this beautiful property, the first, two years ago. When we visit Fredericksburg, we now always seek-out this specific place. The tranquility, the wildlife, and the wonderful owner, made us permanent customers!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Property was exactly as described. The hosts were kind and answered any questions. It was amazing watching the wildlife in the mornings and evenings. Would definitely recommend. We will be booking again.
Good location, very relaxing surroundings. Enjoyed watching deer and birds from the patio. It had everything we needed. Our host was welcoming and helpful. The property was a good location for us to hike and explore a nearby state park and local wineries. Other than needing a few more wine glasses, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We plan to return again for more hiking in the fall. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
Deer are plentiful outside of Fredericksburg. Waking up to see the youngsters practicing their rutting skills, all the while a solitary cardinal calls the plays and yells instructions. And we saw several who “bought the farm” along the road way. Wine country. Yes, wine country. Sure, it’s not Napa, but the vineyards we visited had Texas wines. If you go, save “The Edge” for last. They did a great job and their staff hit it out of the park! Downtown Fredericksburg. The perfect tourist trap. A warm day and streets teeming with shoppers. Every store packed with clothes, food, knickknacks and other sundries. Fredericksburg goes big and apparently never goes home. It’s a wall to wall party way into the night. Our party was to attend the wedding and reception on a warm day at Contigo Ranch, a large bluff on a Texas limestone bluff. I’m from limestone country in northern Illinois, and sometimes when I closed my left eye, I could envision the similarities. We danced, visited, met new people and enjoyed a beautiful weekend. Then, the next morning we took off fairly early back to our winter home in Mesilla, NM. Long trip across the belt of Texas on I-10. But our long road to and from was enjoyable.
