The cottage was incredible! The weather was cold, but the cottage was cozy, comfy, and the perfect getaway. Candice was very responsive and helpful, and the cottage was stocked with all the things you need for a vacation.

This place was great! Just 6 min drive fromThe meijer in town it’s fairly easy to get to. The drive was covered in leaves and def felt like you were off in the woods alone. But it was nice have a few neighbors nearby. The place was just perfect! The views, the atmosphere, it was perfect. Everything was easy to setup or do. Clear instructions. Our stay it got really windy and the upstairs creaked a bit too much for my liking so very thankful for the downstairs bedroom. Both beds were comfy and honestly we cannot wait to come back. Whether it be in the spring, summer, winter or fall—this host and VRBO were a 10/10!

This property is probably one of the nicest and most well-thought-out places we’ve ever stayed. Every detail was planned and the house was so comfortable. The views and the deck are amazing! I do think in a review people should be prepared for certain things. I think it would’ve helped us. We really did not have access to Wi-Fi for the majority of the weekend despite perfect weather. That’s fine if you’re prepared for it. I would suggest downloading any music or books if you are using a Kindle to have access when you get there. Also, maybe bring some of your favorite DVDs because we did not have access to the television the whole weekend. Don’t plan on watching any football games! Also, signage is down for their drive, which can make finding it a little bit more difficult. That all said, the place is amazing and would stay there again.

Deck and views are amazing, but some quirks kept it from being great. Too much in the house required instructions that weren’t there - the coffee pot was touchy, the smart tv is a Roku but required creating or logging into a Roku account before you could get off the main screen including to watch dvds, it took 2 of us to get the fire table to light beyond a flicker. The grill was entirely unusable since the burners were completely rusted out and there wasn’t enough lighting to get heat. While we knew there weren’t stairs to the beach due to erosion we were shocked that the cottage steps are literally at the fence line and then it drops off completely. The furniture is comfortable and the cottage is clean, the listing is accurate, it just didn’t quite live up to the listing promise.

House was clean and functional. The views were beautiful and the wrap around porch was great. Only negatives were the dishwasher was broken while we were there and for a family that made most of their meals at home, doing all the dishes everyday was annoying and the hot tub was not very clean upon arrival.

This was by far the best place I have ever stayed. The views were gorgeous and the place itself was out of a movie. It was a short drive from most things we did during our stay which was very helpful. We were out by ourselves with not many people around so it definitely helped us have a relaxed weekend. We are so thankful for everything that was included. Communication was great and Candice made sure that we had everything we needed. I would have liked to see that we wouldn’t have service or wifi even with having wifi on the listing, but we enjoyed the disconnection and being able to spend time together!

We stayed here July 4th weekend and were very happy to have a secluded home base amongst the bustle . I could chill on that deck forever just looking at the views. This is a very cozy space - but perfect for me and my husband and then my parents in the other room . I would not want to stay there with any individuals that would make any noise ( kids). We loved the convenience to South Haven. Some cons : We had no Internet until the day we left - only issue was inability to communicate/ coordinate with other family in South Haven - had to drive down the street to use our phones. Also there is no beach access, so have to be okay with driving a short distance to the beach

We took our parents to this beautiful cottage on the bluff of Lake Michigan and it was perfect! Cozy cottage with plenty of room. The porch is large and the views priceless! Don’t get this in the city!!! Close to explore both towns of South Haven and Saugatuck. Our long weekend was wonderful! Highly recommend!

This location is absolutely so lovely! Quiet, secluded, with an absolutely incredible view of the lake. My partner and I came for our honeymoon and just wanted someplace comfortable and quiet and this ticked every box. There was no cell service, but the wifi did fine when we used it, and honestly we wanted to get away from work and the phone calls anyway so it was a boon! The house was clean and delightful and well taken care of. Zero issues to report and honestly can't wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed here for a few days after the new year with our 3 kids- 14, 11 and 7. Although tight, it was so cute and the views were amazing. The host was so responsive and easy to work with. Kitchen had the essentials, bedding was great, DVD player and smart TV for movies. To be laying in bed and looking at the lake was just what we were looking for. The only thing that would have made it better would be beach access, but we enjoyed our stay! Thank you Candice!

Cozy, unique home with huge ceilings and the best view of the lake imaginable. Great amenities, privacy. Stayed a lot of places on the lake. None better than this.

4.5 Stars Overall. This is a unique property with unparalleled views of Lake Michigan. The hot tub in the woods with total privacy was an incredible experience. The cabin was impeccably clean, had an adorable decor, and is in a great location with easy access to downtown South Haven, as well as other fun spots such as Crane's and Virtue Cider. Candice was a very thoughtful host and she even procured a baby gate so that we could feel safer bringing our infant with us. I would say downsides to the cabin are the showers (very narrow, and the non-adjustable shower head made for an awkward bathing experience), the upstairs lighting and fan remote control situation was confusing and also some of the light fixtures appeared to be broken. If you are a larger person (as is my husband), you probably won't find the cottage very comfortable, as the passageways are narrow and if you're tall you might hit your head sitting up in the bed upstairs with the slanted ceiling. As an average sized person I thought it was fine, but our advice is if you are Big and Tall this might not be the best fit (no pun intended). Another downside is the lack of wi-fi and cell phone service. Candice does make this clear on the property description, but I can vouch that we barely had service the whole time we were there, and had to walk to the end of the driveway just to make a call or Google anything. But if you're looking for a romantic getaway and willing to unplug, it is perfect.

This is our second time staying at this cozy lakefront cottage, and we loved it just as much as the first time! The wraparound porch and the view is everything!!! We did not want to leave! There is lots to do in the area, with cute towns like South Haven and Saugatuck, but we were most content just hanging out on the porch and taking in the amazing view! We will be back again next year.

My 3 sisters and I just spent 5 nights together at this lovely property and it could not have been more perfect. Peaceful, quiet, and perfectly appointed, it had everything we needed and more. The views of the lake every morning and the sunsets every evening were priceless. Thank you for making this an unforgettable sister trip, one that we’d like to repeat over and over.

Enjoyed the peace and relaxation of watching the lake and sunsets! Even in the rain it was beautiful. The seclusion of the property was nice, especially with the hot tub. Appreciated the cleanliness of the house. Only sad part was that there were no stairs to the beach.

We stayed in this charming beach house for 3 nights on our way to the Catskills for a wedding. The view was spectacular and the house was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The big deck is equipped with a few rocking chairs - a great perch to have a glass of wine and enjoy the amazing sunsets. The surrounding towns - south Haven and Douglas - are fun the explore.

Mesmerizing views and thoughtful touches made this place the perfect getaway. The entire experience was positive - pics and description were spot on.

What a truly unique and beautiful spot to celebrate our anniversary. The views are some of the best I have seen - sunsets, seclusion, lake breeze, sound of the waves, with beautiful forest as well. The house itself is just perfectly different, comfy, very clean, and yes sort of magical. Very charming. The wrap around deck and hot tub with views are fabulous. Very easy to locate, close to South Haven and other nearby beach towns. We enjoyed perch at Captain Lou’s on the river, but otherwise didn’t want to leave this house! Candice is very nice/easy to communicate with. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Blessed to have found this slice of heaven in Michigan.

We all loved the cottage and the decor. It had nice modern touches but kept the feel of a cozy, little cottage. The sunset views were amazing. It was secluded enough that we weren’t bothered, but close enough to downtown South Haven that we could still go out to eat or head to the beach. We all said we would come back to this place again.
