Historic Studio Dog-Friendly with Hot Tub on Main Street Red Lodge

The Space:

Welcome to the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station, a cozy and charming studio located right in the heart of Red Lodge, just steps away from downtown shops, restaurants, and beautiful Rock Creek. The Red Lodge Ski Hill and Beartooth Highway are also just down the road, making this the perfect base for exploring the area.

This unique studio is rich in Red Lodge history. When the Beartooth Highway opened in 1936, Red Lodge businessmen established new roadside inns and services. The “Crosser’s Super Service and Auto Court” was one of the better-known stops, with the property originally housing a gas station and a motor inn motel. Today, the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station occupies one of the original structures, blending the charm of its history with modern comforts.

Perfect for two, this delightful studio offers a serene sleeping area with rustic touches and ample natural light, creating a peaceful sanctuary. The fully stocked kitchenette features efficient appliances and clever storage, ideal for preparing meals during your stay. Relax in the cozy living space with a gas fireplace and enjoy the well-appointed bathroom with sleek fixtures for a spa-like experience. The queen-size murphy bed with a high-quality mattress easily tucks away, creating more space to enjoy the inviting living area.

Step outside to a private patio area with a firepit, grill, and a hot tub (available year-round), perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. As an added bonus, you'll have breathtaking views of the Beartooth Mountains right from your doorstep. With its blend of history, comfort, and modern amenities, the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station offers the ideal retreat for anyone looking to experience the charm and adventure of Red Lodge, all within walking distance of everything this wonderful town has to offer.

Cornerstone is conveniently located kitty-corner to The Roosevelt Center, Red Lodge’s vibrant hub for art, culture, performances, receptions, conferences, and community gatherings. With both indoor and outdoor spaces designed for creativity and connection, The Roosevelt Center hosts a variety of events year-round. Stay at Cornerstone and be front and center for everything happening at this dynamic venue

If you have more than 2 people in your group and you would like space for friends and family to rent, the larger home on the property, The Base Camp @ Crossers Station, comfortably sleeps an additional 6 guests and is right next door! The main house has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, a fully stocked kitchen, and also has a fun outdoor patio with a firepit and BBQ grill. Inquire with us if you would like more information on renting both properties.

Guest Access:

The Neighborhood:

Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)

In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.

In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two to two and a half hours drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.

Cornerstone has off-street parking. Red Lodge has a taxi service and Uber for transportation in the area. Red Lodge does not have a commercial airport. Guest(s) can fly to area airports and drive to destination. Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

Interaction with Guests:

Guest will receive emails and text messages prior to arrival date with directions and lock box code and pre-stay information.

The place was very cute and perfect for our short stay. I love being able to walk downtown and this location was amazing for that. They did a great job at carving out space for an outdoor area and the hot tub was perfect.

Perfect for me and my wife. Home is a good size and layout for just two people. We spent the majority of the days in the park and just came back to shower, use the hot tub and sleep. Kcup coffee machine was nice. Very glad someone had left a liquid shampoo and conditioner. That is preferred over a bar shampoo. Everything in the house was labelled and easy to navigate. Would definitely stay here again.

Really convenient location within walking distance of everything downtown. Keep in mind the bed is a murphy bed so don't expect a tempurpedic mattress or anything!

The Cornerstone was easy to find and we loved the iconic shape of the building.Truly a delightful space for two. We enjoyed the short distance walk to downtown with easy access to fine food and shopping. The outdoor space was great and the privacy fence is a nice touch with the hot tub out back. It is definitely a property I would recommend to a friend. We plan on returning in the future.
