comfortable home in a wonderful neighborhood and great location to Gulfport beach and activities
Excellent
A well maintained property very near to the charming center of Gulfport. It is a short walk to the water and to the dining and shopping area of Gulfport. The owners, George and Mirjana, are quite charming and easy to contact. They are very responsive. It's worth it to stay there just to get a chance to talk with them. The house is cozy and well equipped. We found it comfortable. Our only real negative was that it is a little dark and the dark furniture makes it more so. Our personal preference is for more open and sunny places. If you are looking for a place that is well located to enjoy the old Florida charm of Gulfport, you can't really go wrong with this house.
The host are very nice and helpful with any questions or help that you need. The house is in a quiet neighborhood just 3 blocks from downtown Gulfport. Will definitely recommend this cozy place.
We loved our stay in Gulfport. The location was ideal, a short walk to the downtown and the beach area. Our owners were delightful, very welcoming when we arrived, very helpful with any questions we had. Very enjoyable!
George and Maria are the sweetest people .. very kind and helpful. We were able to walk 2 blocks to shops, restaurants bars and the beach. Great location
We arrived at the property to be met by the owners who were the sweetest couple ever. The home was clean, kitchen well stocked with everything you need. plenty of towels and bedding. The home was very spacious and I used the back room looking out over the back yard as my office to work remotely. The area is just perfect, it was a short walk to the beach and pier and the quaint downtown with many shops and places to eat. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay, the owners were very gracious and wanted to please. We will be staying here again for sure
Mirjana and George’s property is in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The owners met us on arrival, provided a tour of the property, and even gave us an assortment of packaged mixed nuts as a welcome gift. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, and utensils. There were ample dishes, bowls, cups, etc. There is no dishwasher, but there are a full-size washer and dryer. The shower in the back bathroom is a bit “tight,” and the shower head is at an awkward angle and hard to adjust. Neither of the bathrooms had exhaust fans, and the main bath had a shower door that was missing one of its three panels, so there was also a shower curtain inside the shower door to prevent leakage. There were plenty of towels, sheets, and extra blankets. The central air system worked well during hot days, and you could set the thermostat and forget it, as the AC would kick in or turn off, as needed. There was also a significant cold snap during our month-long visit. Again, by setting the thermostat to 68 and switching it from “cool” to “heat,” the front of the house maintained a comfortable, constant temperature when nighttime temps dropped into the 30s. The back room, laundry room, and back bathroom did not seem to be covered by the central HVAC system or to have vents. . There is a window-mounted AC unit in the back room., however, which we never used. We really didn’t use the back room, except to access the laundry room or pass through to the backyard to use the propane barbecue grill. Contrary to an earlier comment by another guest about the grill, I had no problem cooking on the grill multiple times. The only minor issue was needing to light the grill with a lighter, rather than clicking the electric lighter button. A long- handled lighter was provided in one of the kitchen drawers. Overall, our stay was great. The home is roomy for a 2-BR and, as everyone notes, in a great location. The property and its contents definitely have their minor issues and quirks, but I think that guests who are slightly flexible and not overly picky, will find the property enjoyable and a good value, This is especially true when comparing it to most other rentals in the immediate area. We would definitely return to Mirjana and George’s property.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 weeks for a working vacation. As others have said this house is located within walking distance to Gulfport’s shops, restaurants, beaches and other activities. Gulfport is ‘old Florida,’ with brick streets with a very relaxing vibe. We felt very safe. The owners met and gave us a tour when we arrived. Our first impressions included the house was extremely dark even though it was the middle of the day, it had a musty smell, and the backyard was extremely uninviting. Over the days it became apparent that the house was managed, maintained and improved on the cheap, from the unprofessional paint job, worn and dirty base boards and outlets/lights/fans that didn’t work. As stated, the backyard was extremely uninviting with an area of dirt, old dirty pavers, a broken fence, 5 neighbors and a grill that didn’t work properly. The bathrooms had no working fans, GIF outlets and were extremely small. One of them had a shower door that only provided 16-inches of space to get into the tub. As a fit-athletic couple we felt uncomfortable each time using it. Also, one of the bedrooms does not have a closet, which is required by code in the state of Florida. We could go on but hopefully you get the point. We’ve stayed at 25+ condos/houses over the years and this place looked decent online, but you can’t see all of its issues in pictures. As a frequent vacation renter, we always consider previous reviews. We are amazed that others did not seem to feel the same way about this rental. Hopefully this helps others decide how to spend your travel dollars.
The house is a home away from home. It has everything you need for a vacation or if your waiting on your new home to close. Eateries and ice cream nearby.
