Stayed Jan 16, 2026We thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness and comfort of this lovely Condo in a gated community. The Condo was well equipped with dishes, furniture, toilet paper, paper towels, and a large starter bottle of water. We appreciated the closeness of Chedraui, a market. Because we are from a very tiny town in Oregon, our learning curve to use the local transportation was rather steep. Laugh. But, after a few days we learned how to get around the area. We took the city van to the beautiful beach near the Grand Velas resort. We took the district bus into the Malecon area in Puerto Vallarta. We enjoyed lounging by the beautiful pool, and visiting with friendly Canadians. We loved leaving the bustle and noise of the City to return to the peace and quiet of the gated community. The Hostess Liz was responsive and kind.

Stayed Nov 17, 2023We picked this place because it was supposed to be family friendly, close to amenities and the pictures looked nice. We ended up leaving early and paying to stay in a hotel because they drained the pool 1/2 way through our stay. We found out it would not be open for the rest of our stay. The lounge chairs were old, broken or had holes in them. The furniture was old, the beds very uncomfortable, the washing machine ruined clothes, leaving rust spots on them because it probably hadn’t been used in a long time. The first night we stayed there was no sheets on one bed, just a mattress protector and blanket. I contacted the host and ended up buying sheets as she asked if she could bring sheets at the 1/2 way point of our stay. They provided only 4 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people for a week stay and no extra garbage bags. Light bulbs were missing and the toilet didn’t work properly. The utensils were minimal and gross. When they came 1/2 way through our stay to clean we had no access to the unit for 4 hours. After complaining about garbage bags and toilet paper they left extra garbage bags but we still had to buy more toilet paper. The area constantly smelled like sewer. The area was dirty, lots of garbage and you needed a cab to go anywhere. We did make it to the beach which was very pretty but nothing other than one restaurant there. I don’t usually complain but if this was your hard earned money going towards a family vacation my recommendation would be to steer clear

Stayed Feb 1, 2020We stayed at Casa Bambu for the month of February, 2020. Overall the home was as advertised except for a couple of things. There is a clothes washer but there is NO clothes dryer although there are lines on the patio to hang things. A dryer would be helpful especially for towels but other than that it worked out fine. It is not 5 minutes from the beach but instead about a 15-20 minute drive and approximately a 40 minute walk. There are bikes but we didn't attempt to ride them to the beach. Once at the beach though it is really quite nice, we went several times and always took public transportation. The community pool is terrific and most of the time we had it to ourselves. Very clean and lots of lounge chairs and tables under the palapa. There is a nice patio table outside the house that we enjoyed in the mornings for coffee and breakfast. Each of the three bedrooms upstairs have AC units and ceiling fans. There is no AC downstairs but there are ceiling and floor fans which helped a lot. The mattresses are adequate although they could stand to be upgraded or at least have good quality foam mattress toppers added. The homeowner, Liz, is VERY responsive and and made sure that any questions were addressed promptly (i.e. allowing us to drop our luggage off early, getting a new gas tank for the BBQ grill, providing clean towels, sheets, maid service, etc.) The house is also next door to the store Chedraui for groceries or almost anything else you would want. It's close enough to walk and we just brought a shopping cart back and forth which came in handy. All-in-all, our stay was very good and the neighborhood is quiet.

Stayed Jun 27, 2019My family and myself really enjoyed the property, everyone was very friendly, the property manager would always respond in such short notice. I loved the fact that it’s was a private property, we felt safe in leaving our belongings. The property is clean and calm perfect for families traveling.

Stayed Feb 4, 2018We had a great stay at this property and Liz was VERY quick to respond to all of our questions. We asked if it would be possible to get a lawn chair to sit outside and she went and purchased us a patio set! The bikes are amazing as it is a 15 minute ride to the beach so we never used a taxi because we had the bikes to go everywhere. There is also a bus stop about 1/2 block from the property which was also great! Being right next door to Chedraui (grocery store) was fantastic! There are many good restaurants nearby as well. The pool was nice and most of the time we were the only ones there. Would definately stay here again!
