Fayetteville, West Virginia
Fayetteville, WV. Conveniently located near popular area attractions and outdoor activities, we offer affordable vacation lodging in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia. Our lodge sits on 2 acres less than one mile from downtown Fayetteville and the New River Gorge.
Fayetteville, WV was voted as one of the coolest outdoor towns in the US. We live and work locally and will be happy to help you plan any adventures during your stay! Great spot for your Gauley Season Weekend.
I cannot say enough about not just the property itself but more importantly, the host, Bobby. So friendly and knowledgeable and receptive and generous!! Answered all my questions within minutes and made this truly a home away from home. Even when my husband locked the keys in the house and we were outside freezing in the rain, Bobby had someone here within minutes to let us in!! I've stayed in many vrbos and this one stands out as a truly wonderful experience. If we are in the area again, I'll never stay anywhere else!!
Property was as described.
Propert owner Bobby was extremely helpful. Great recommendations and easy to get ahold of
The property is very accurately described. Perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend.
The property is in a great location, close to lots of activities. Great porch, nice backyard and the owner was very helpful. Overall this is an easy 4.5. There we few detractors.
Property came as advertised. Owner even offered late check out so a nice bonus there.
The house was clean with comfortable beds. The kitchen is small but has a good selection of pots/pans/utensils/silverware. As shown in the house layout, you have to pass through one bedroom to get to another. That was no problem for us. The biggest drawback is how close the house is to a busy road. We didn’t notice the noise when we were in the house but there is no getting away from it when sitting on the porch. The owner was very friendly and responded promptly to questions.
Nice older home. Clean! A bit close to the road! Close to everything we wanted.
Stayed for a long weekend. Close to hiking trails, ACE whitewater and about 30 minutes from Summersville Lake. House is nice with some really cute decorations and slept nine of us comfortably. A/C worked really well and the deck around the back and sides was great to sit on. Nice firepit for s'mores!
We were very happy with the location of this house to Fayetteville, shopping, restaurants and hiking trails. Yes, the house is next to a road, but within minutes it became background noise and did not bother any of us. There was plenty of room for everyone and the side room was perfect for playing games.
The location is great- convenient to stores, restaurants and the gorge. We felt safe where we were. The host was very responsive and the house was clean. However, the house isn’t insulated very well so you can hear all of the cars on the road passing by. The walls are thin and you can hear people in the living room talking normally from the front bedroom. The bathroom shower in the front rooms was very snug- fine for children but very difficult for an adult to shower in. Some of the rooms also felt very stuffy- ours didn’t have a ceiling fan and it was very uncomfortable to sleep in. House has a great yard though and great porch. Well stocked with eating utensils, plates, cups and blankets. Our kids had a blast playing out back in the yard and it easy to keep an eye on them from the porch.
My family of five spent 3 nights. There was plenty of room for all of us to be together when we wanted and also have time apart when we needed it . The house was in the perfect location for enjoying New River Gorge and the many hiking trails and a quick and easy drive to all the excellent restaurants in Fayetteville. We highly recommend this place.
It was a very enjoyable family getaway. We spent Thanksgiving weekend there and it was awesome. Plenty of rooms and beds. Surrounded by beautiful nature and yet on the edge of town. Early 20th century flat roofed building, both charming and cozy. It seems like it must have originally been a boarding house or B&B. Our stay was very comfortable for 6 people. Lots to do and see in the area, especially beautiful New River Gorge area. Only downside is it's close to the highway so be careful if you have young children. Awesome rental, I highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay for Rim to River 100! The house layout was excellent for our group of 6, and having the two bathrooms was perfect since 2 of us had to get up pretty early for the race. Others in our group enjoyed the proximity to Fayetteville and Freefolk Brewery.
Worked well for our needs. Traffic is a bit noisy. Said toilet paper in amenities but only had partial rolls in bathrooms. Had to supply a roll!
Property located in great location…. House is quirky as expected for older home but it worked well for our needs and we enjoyed ourselves!
The location is good, central to the shops and activities we are doing in the area. But it is next on a busy road so there is a lot of road noises, especially in the bedrooms in the front of the house closer to the road. The doors to several bedrooms and bath are squeaking a lot so the next morning we had to get some oil to lubricate the doors otherwise no one can get good sleep at night. This was easy to fix so not sure why it was not already taken care of by the owner. The AC system worked but not too well, the temperature gauge appears to be not working properly so it was not registering the current temperature accurately, which resulted in us having to adjust the thermostat constantly and we could never get the right temperature inside, it goes from too hot to too cold, then back to too hot. That was pretty frustrating. Also the main bathroom does not have a lock, the owner should be aware of this because he provided a door knob sign so you can flip back and forth to show occupied and vacant but that is super inconvenient. Not sure why this issue can’t be resolved, you don’t even need a sophisticated lock, even a simple hook would be fine. There was not enough bath towels provided for all the guests registered so we ended up having to use our own beach towels and luckily we did bring some as we are doing water activities neatly. None of the bedrooms had closet. The bathrooms did not have enough places for even 4 towels. Since the house can sleep 9 and only 2 baths, each should provide at least 4-5 hooks or bars to hang towels, there is empty wall space next to the sink not being utilized. Also not enough sitting for everyone to eat meals at the same time. There is only a tiny table in the kitchen that seats 4, no other dining chairs or tables available. One room which I believe was the original dining room isn’t furnished as well, it has a tiny round coffee table and 4 sofa chairs which can’t be used for dining purposes. It would be more beneficial to refurnish this room and put in a proper dining table and chairs. The house has the potential to be much better. Considering the price per night it should provide more convenience. The washer/dryer was in basement and the basement was really dirty and had spiders. We used it but did not feel comfortable inside.
Great budget friendly location for a group looking to participate in adventures around the area. We had a group of 10 that fit comfortably for sleeping. We had to be creative about sitting together at meals when it was raining outside. We packed extra chairs for eating outside by the campfire. The location was perfect for getting to our activities - escape room, rafting, ropes course and zip lining. The internet connection is spotty, but the owner was quick to respond when we were in need of extra supplies. Would definitely stay here again!
if you have small childern please note it's on a highway. I overlooked that. The road noise wasn't bad at night when traffic settled down.
Enjoyable experience
Great little place with a surprising amount of bed space! Highly recommend if you're looking at a place for climbing at the New
