We enjoyed our stay. Everything was comfortable and clean.
This was my first Vrbo rental and it may be my last. I paid over $1,100 for a weeks stay in Colorado Springs. I was assured I would have a person to help with any problems I encountered. We arrived 2 hours before our scheduled check in time but when we called to see if we could check in early no one called us back. We came back two hour later to check in. That took us 45 minutes to get into the coded lock. Once inside we could not get on the internet. Found out we didn’t have cable or satellite tv only antenna. Living room contained only two love seats and a very uncomfortable something none of us wanted to sit on. No coffee table and no end tables so no place to put our drinks. Could not get fan in iiving to work. No tv’s in either bedroom. The thermostat was set on 74 and finally after two days we got it down to 68 or 70 at night. Kitchen had only 4 forks 4 knives and several serving spoons 4 plates 2 small bowls until we found another one under the bed. No serving dishes and no skillets you could fix anything in. The bed I’m guest room was like a torture rack Some things were nice Loved the location. It was centrally located and building was nice. They did offer some extra things like coffee and flour and sugar if it was needed. I could not get the door to lock after trying for over an hour and once I was contacted by the owner I was told not to worry because it was a safe neighborhood. We had to leave our stuff in an unlocked house. Not finished but out of space
Overall, I was satisfied with the rental. The unit and setting were lovely, but it was missing the warm and fuzzy I've experienced with other VRBO's. Dishware very limited (not even service for 4), the unit was not very clean upon inspection, the hot water did not work when we got there (had to fix ourselves bc owner did not respond), the wi-fi was not what was written in the book, and paper towels were almost gone and no backup. Tried reaching the owner both via text and call, she answered one call out of 2 and never responded to txt until the morning of check out asking me to take trash to curb. Some of this might sound trivial, but not what I expected for the price.
The location was perfect for us. However, when we arrived it was warm inside. There was a sign taped over the thermostat, Do Not Touch. The A/C was turned off. The owner left a message in the kitchen that read, Please do not touch. It's set where needed. I texted the owner, and advised the A/C was turned off and asked I to turn it on. He replied, Nobody knows how to use it. It's expensive. People ruin everything. I texted and advised it was very warm inside and would like to turn it on. The property was advertised to have A/C, and we were paying a lot of money to stay there. He replied, Please do not turn it on. …take advantage of the night air. and Tomorrow, I will come put a lock on it There is no cable- Not a huge deal for us, but the property is advertised as having cable TV. There is no Internet/WIFI as advertised. I had planned on doing some work while in town. The owner left router and password information, but no network existed. The place wasn't clean. One bathroom shower didn't drain, which caused four of us to share a single bathroom. We found two empty water bottles and trash under the bed. There were tiny bits of broken glass on the floor throughout the property. There is a light switch that stops the freezer door from opening. We could not open the freezer enough to store a bag of ice. The street-side windows in the Master bed and bath did not have curtains. There was no easy way to stop anyone nearby from seeing inside.
Although the family room furniture pictured is not the actual furniture in the house, the blinds on the French doors do not pull up and you are asked not to change the thermostat setting, the house is clean and in a relatively quiet neighborhood.
- needed cleaned (toilets, shower, floors, cabinets and walls were dirty) so I had to clean upon my arrival. It appeared that only the sheets and towels were changed and the rest of the home was completely ignored. - very firm master bed - unlock code does not change or expire per occupant so ANY PREVIOUS OCCUPANT OR THEIR VISITORS HAVE ACCESS TO THE DOOR CODE. THIS IS NOT SAFE. DO NOT LEAVE DOOR CODES IN PUBLIC WELCOME BOOKS. - great location - nice home - friendly host Would have been 5 stars with proper cleaning and a useful door lock.
We had a wonderful time and this was a great place for us to stay.
My experience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, the previous renter was still there. A bed was broken, a toilet was broken, there was a leak into the basement and the place had not been cleaned. The owner knew by 8am that I would not be able to stay there. Instead of contacting me, the owner let me arrive at 4pm and sit outside for 2 hours (in the rain, groceries in car and with my elderly mother) and left me stranded to figure it out on my own. I spent more money for a hotel as we had nowhere to go. The fact that the owner knew, and failed to contact me is absolutely unacceptable and completely unprofessional. At no point did the owner try to make this right or at the very least, apologize.
Nice clean comfortable place!
I stayed here with my girlfriend and her daughter. We had a couple cousins over and everyone had such a great time. The place is beautiful and so clean and spacious. We spent a lot of time downstairs playing air hockey. I will definitely be looking to stay there again on my next trip to Colorado Springs!
This is a nice property. My kids loved the air hockey table and card table down stairs for playing uno. The location is central to town and many beautiful places near by.
Close to pikes peak, garden of gods, caves and cliffs. About 2 hrs from RMNP.
