Spend 10 days at this place with my wife, daughter and son in law. Everything that you need was there plus some beach chairs, and boogie boards. Location was in a great area. Beach across the road from the place. Endless great places to explore along the north shore within short driving distance. Lots of options for groceries or dine out/street food. All in all great stay!
The rental we were provided was not the unit with rented. We knew this as the property manager advised the location was no longer available. We were told this unit was across the street from the beach… it was NOT. It was across from the ocean with a sea wall… but no beach. They should have given me at least a credit of $50. A night as this was not comparable to the unit we paid for. Very disappointing… the caretaker was great and talked me off the negative vibes when I first came. He is the only reason we stayed. Switching units shouldn’t be allowed.
If you don't plan to be at the house during the day, this is a good stay. If you're not used to the humidity, don't stay here. Some recommendations for the manager/owner: Alerted the property manager that we would have a late arrival. Once we found the driveway, a fence with a 'beware of dog' sign was posted. This gave us pause and cause for concern. I wish this was mentioned in the check-in email. Once we felt it was safe and we were indeed at the right location, it took us several minutes to find the post with the key. When walking inside, it was STIFLING hot! It would have been nice if the manager turned on the fans--no cross breeze, no air conditioners or swamp coolers. Minor cleanliness issues--blinds had a layer of dust, and cobwebs in the corners of the walls. We did appreciate the fact that we could walk across the street to watch the sunrise or walk on the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and spices. Relatively quiet. We weren't typical tourists (we've been many times and have family on the island), so we probably stayed in the house more than other renters.
