The Space:

This home is without a doubt one of the most spectacular vacation rentals you will find anywhere. Lovingly restored with no detail overlooked, this log cabin located in the historical district of Crested Butte and situated right on CoalCreek will wrap you in comfort and luxury. Constructed with local craftmen and utilizing reclaimed barnwood and logs this home has details you won`t find anywhere else. For instance, all of the the door-knobs, towel bars, and drawer pulls were architectural salvage finds from turn of the century buildings in New York. Being positioned right on Coal Creek a person can open almost any window in the home and listen to the sounds of the soothing water outside. Better yet, step outside onto any of the 3 decks, one with a private HOT TUB, and let the spectacular setting take the stress away. After all, life in Crested Butte runs at a slower pace.

Stepping inside this cabin on Coal Creek will undoubtedly take your breath away. On the first floor you will step into the great room which consists of the living, dining and kitchen areas designed so that everyone is a part of the action. There is access to 2 of the outdoor living areas off this level as well as the master bedroom with king bed and INCREDIBLE master bath. The kitchen is a gourmet cook`s dream with Sub-Zero fridge, Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawers, AGA stove and oven, and reclaimed wood custom cabinetry. The reclaimed timber breakfast bar is one of a kind and not to be missed. In the living room, wrap yourself in leather luxury and enjoy a movie on the huge flat panel or just toss some logs in the wood-burning fireplace and enjoy a cocktail with the sounds of smooth jazz on the stereo.

Take a trip up the stairs and don`t miss the custom iron work painstakenly created by local craftsmen. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms and a full bath with a shower made out of tin and river rock! (You have to see it to believe it.) There is a king bed in the second bedroom with it`s own private deck overlooking Coal Creek. The third bedroom is furnished with custom log beds consisting of a king and two twins. Grab a novel and enjoy the quiet reading loft tucked away on the landing.

Outdoors you will find extensive decks to enjoy our 300 days plus of sunshine a year. The back deck has a recessed hot tub right next to Coal Creek and is equipped with a gas grill for those trout you caught earlier in the day. All of this only a few minutes walk to the heart of Crested Butte`s world class dining and shopping. A one-of-a-kind log cabin, a hot tub on the creek, world class fishing, skiing, and hiking, all add up to a well deserved vacation here in Crested Butte!

We reached the property about 20 minutes early and the door code wouldn’t work until the official check in time. Fair enough! (We left then, however management did promptly grant us admission when i called) After a long day of traveling, we just couldn’t wait to take warm showers. Unfortunately the hot water didn’t work! We let it run a bit, hoping pipes just needed warming up. We left for dinner, upon returning the water still wasn’t warming. That was a huge bummer to say the least! Management did come right out (stationed about 45 minutes away), telling us that it occasionally happens! For the price point, you would hope this recurrent issue is checked before someone comes to stay!? By late evening we did get to take showers, and management checked on it again the next day. Sure would have liked a discount for this day one major inconvenience. I am giving this house a 5 overall. Pretty well stocked ( just enough TP, no coffee, two dishwasher pods), and i wanted to be really mad about the cold water, but people, this place is BEAUTIFUL! Every space, carefully designed and special. We had fires every night, cooked several meals, our sons relaxed in the hot tub after their mountain adventures, we played cards, watched movies, walked to town…Its the perfect… THE perfect mountain home.Highly recommend! Truly.Crested Butte is so charming with top notch restaurants, walkable to property. (Just check the water right away, and bring your fav essential provisions.)

Seven nights at your lovely abode. My brother and his family and me and most of my family. We cooked great meals at the house and spent lots of time listening to the creek outdoors. Best of locations and very comfortable beds.

A lovely log cabin located right on coal creek. This fit our group perfectly and could not have been an easier/stress-free stay, especially with the creek babbling right next to the house. Everything was user friendly and easy to find. The kitchen is truly set for everything you need. I have never seen so many appliances, accessories and kitchen supplies available for VRBO guests. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Seamless check in and check out process. The hot tub and patios are so relaxing, peaceful and private. Even though it is on the road to Kepler Pass, the traffic was never an issue. It was actually a benefit being able to go straight out of the door and start a nice hike.

I actually am a little conflicted giving a review on this property as I want to keep it my secret. Truly an outstanding property top to bottom. Rustic and high end all in one. Perfectly located just a few blocks from Main St. Couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend a snowy Thanksgiving with the family.

We loved our 10 day stay in Crested Butte on Coal Creek. We loved hearing the creek as we sat outside or slept in the very comfy beds. The home was very well equipped with everything we needed. Very relaxing!! We’d definitely stay again. Hope we can in the near future.

We had an amazing time at the Cabin on Coal Creek. It fit our family of 6 perfectly and had all the things to make us feel comfortable for the Thanksgiving holiday. Great location with a short work to downtown and hiking trails. Absolutely perfect for our family and we hope to come back soon.
