Stayed Jul 17, 2025We arrived to stay for our family’s wedding, which was being held in Cleveland. The house is very unique. It is very old with a lot of intricate staircases. If you have older family members staying, the only bathroom is on the second floor and makes it difficult for them to climb stairs. There is no dishwasher. And the number of utensils was not enough for 10 persons. The kitchen is small and not for entertaining. I would recommend catering foods or eating out. There is one broken window still on the entry patio that has not been addressed, and is still covered with wood, but otherwise it was very clean and the beds were comfortable, there is a nice basement area with a couch and a laundry room, which was helpful. It is difficult to park a car in the garage unless you have a small vehicle, but we mainly used the driveway. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Cleveland. The house is very much a 1920s sort of house with beautiful wood accents and a nice wood staircase that has been well preserved…..

Stayed Jun 27, 2025The house is very unique with lots of character! We would have loved to learn more about the history of the house. Loved the decor and spacious bedrooms, plenty of room for a large group! Not a lot of room for parking for the amount of people that can stay in the house, so cars have to park on the street. Did not receive check-out information from host. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

Stayed May 14, 2025Cleveland Castle was a major letdown! The screened-in porch—typically a selling point for any rental—was boarded up with plywood, giving the home a neglected and almost abandoned appearance. Not exactly the warm welcome we were expecting.Inside, things only got worse. The furniture is incredibly old and dated, giving the entire house a worn, uncomfortable feel. The window coverings were beyond cheap, and one window was literally covered with a blanket instead of a curtain. It felt more like a rundown college rental than a vacation home. The layout of the house was confusing and impractical, resembling something like the Winchester Mystery House. Multiple staircases went in all directions, making it difficult to navigate and not at all user-friendly—especially with kids or older adults.Although the listing says the home sleeps up to 16 people, the kitchen is comically small—it can barely fit one person at a time. It’s completely ill-equipped for cooking or serving meals for a large group.Cleanliness was another major issue. The house was musty, dusty, and clearly not well-maintained. We encountered a bug problem, especially on the porch area where ants were crawling around. Judging by the three cans of ant spray under the sink, the owners are fully aware of this issue but haven’t resolved it.Lastly, the three bathrooms are tiny and nowhere near adequate for a group of 16.This place needs a deep clean, new paint at a minimum but, ideally, complete renovation!
