Very nice, clean, and comfortable. Well appointed with a full kitchen with more than the basics--dish washer, gas grill on the big balcony deck, gas fireplace, washer and dryer. Comfortable beds, nice wooded surroundings. The owner, Pamela, was so nice and helpful. She was available to help 24/7.
It was relaxing and pretty. Central to the activities we wanted and quiet. Friendly host and a few goodies supplied!
I could not have been happier with our stay. The house is warm and so cute -- it was even decorated seasonally. I can't think of anything we needed that wasn't there. She has been so thoughtful with the way it is furnished and what she leaves for her guests. The house is on the top level, with another apartment below. I think she said that she has relatives who sometimes stay there. There was a truck there during part of our stay but absolutely no noise.Saying top level makes it sound like there are a lot of stairs, but you come in from up a slope, so there are only a few. I would definitely say not handicapped accessible. Even though the stairs are wide enough for a walker, there is a fairly narrow and slightly tilted sidewalk to get to them. The location is great. Outside of Asheville proper, but a straight shot to downtown and actually closer to some of the outdoors activities than it would have been staying in town. And there are plenty of restaurants in the area without even going downtown. The only caveat I would give is that it might not be the best place to stay if you plan to be coming back late. The recycling can had been tipped over with stuff dragged around the yard. This was most likely from a bear, who I wouldn't want to meet coming back to the house late at night. Otherwise, perfect.
Arden is perfectly situated between Asheville and Hendersonville. Located in a quiet neighborhood with quick access to 26. The place is perfect for a couple or small family. We found it to be clean and having all the basic amenities you would need. We would definitely stay here again.
Very close to everything you would want to do and see! Highly recommend.
Secluded, gated neighborhood. Very nice furnishings. Very cozy and comfortable. Definitely recommend if you want to stay in this area.
Pros: Great location with a convenient super Walmart across the street. Gated community. Property was cozy and small but comfortable for us 4. Cons: Bathroom had a bifold closet door with no lock Shared property with owners family/friends which was a separate downstairs unit (no issues just not a private property as many would assume)
This is the cutest little cottage ever! Any questions I had were answered quickly, the owner is super friendly and the kitchen has everything you need with some much appreciated extras in the fridge etc. It was clean and neat, and the fireplace was so nice to sit by in the evenings! Rooms and beds were very comfortable and over all…it was a fabulous stay!! I highly recommend!!
The property was very nice and clean. Well stocked kitchen. The fireplace was wonderful on chilly nights. Good location for seeing the area. The listing did not make it clear that there is a downstairs unit and not a single home. Nor did it state that the home is in a conference/church camp area. Both were fine but we would have liked to know that ahead of time.
We we not aware that this was a duplex with a resident living on the first floor.
This is the main floor of a detached house. There is a caretaker/property owner who occupies the basement area. We arrived about 10 pm and drove to the back of the house but because it was so dark it took us a while to find the steps around the side of the house to our entrance. In the morning we saw a sign that says Guest parking in rear but we couldn't see it at night with the caretaker's truck parked in front of the house. The property is very clean and well-stocked with water and toiletries you might have forgotten to pack.
A great and relaxing place. Close to everything but tucked away in a forest setting. Thoughtful amenities placed throughout the home. I would definitely stay here again. Excellent communication with Pam.
We all enjoyed our short stay in this adorable cabin. The host was super accommodating and friendly. We will definitely try to stay here again in the future. The location was perfectly located for a trip to the biltmore. Highly recommend!!
Rented Spruce Lodge while attending horse show at the WNC Ag Center which is about 3 miles away. Very nice accommodations - clean and comfortable. Pretty area, private and scenic but very close to restaurants and retail. Highly recommend this property.
We loved this place! It was decorated so pretty for fall. It’s located in a quiet community with access to restaurants and shopping, and the event we attended. Plenty roomy for 3-4 guests. We will definitely stay there again!
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Asheville area and the cabin location made it convenient to The Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, downtown Asheville as well as nearby shopping and restaurants. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well stocked with guest necessities. Our only significant suggestion for improvement would be a new mattress for the main bedroom.
Great location clean and well stocked thank you.
Pam was a good host. She provided several goodies when we arrived. We enjoyed our visit and played several golf courses while there.
Property was perfect. Close to airport & easy to drive to, clean & nicely decorated, lots of amenities, very cozy cottage, & very nice property owner. We just loved our stay at this property & hope to visit again soon.
It was perfect!
Spruce Lodge is a lovely, very well-kept and appointed property set in a sun-dappled wooded preserve that provided the perfect and convenient venue for my guests who came to celebrate a special event in the area. Pam and her staff were great! Helpful, responsive and friendly--thanks for helping to make our stay so comfortable!
We visited Asheville to attend the Monet exhibit at Biltmore. Perfect location. Everything at the home was just as described. Hope to visit this property again in the fall.
This home was comfortable, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a good stay. It was tucked into a quiet neighborhood but close to lots of shopping. Easy to get to Asheville, good hiking, nice wineries......we recommend this place.
