Santa Barbara, California
Behind a French blue door and all on one level, the home's rooms have intentional, relaxed individuality. Most notably, two full-size primary suites on opposite ends of the house create ideal accommodations. The centrally located living and dining areas are connected, and set up perfectly for guests to gather together for meals, movies, and more. Sliding doors open to a spacious, tropical-feeling backyard with bistro lights, a dining table, a barbecue, and a hot tub. Tidy landscaping, towering shade trees and a lush lawn create a very pretty year-round oasis for enjoying the mild climate here.
Feel like staying in and cooking The galley kitchen's six-burner European-style Forno gas stove and the butcher block counter set the stage for an inspired meal from the pages of Bon Appetit. With a local's favorite Mesa Produce just down the street, the freshest organic fruits and veggies will become inspiration for a healthy and delicious vacation menu. Grab a hearty loaf of Oat Bakery bread too. Delicious!
The main primary suite, with a king-size bed, a smartly organized walk-in closet, tv, and swivel chair seating, also has a slider that opens to the backyard. The en suite bathroom with two sinks and a walk-in shower completes the suite offerings. The other two bedrooms of this wing face the front yard, each outfitted with queen-size beds and sharing a hall bathroom.
The secondary suite on the opposite side of the home is spacious, bright, and equal in size and stature to the primary. In addition, there is a television, and an en suite bathroom with a shower. The added benefit of an outside entrance offers added privacy and autonomy for guests. Views of the zero-scape front garden in contrast to the stunning Santa Ynez mountains make this east wing special. There is a laundry with front-loading washer, dryer, and utility sink too. The covered carport just outside offers convenient off-street parking
Ocean beaches are all within a short stroll, a brisk walk, or a brief drive away. However, walking down the street to Mesa Lane Steps is an absolute must, offering a dramatic ascent to an exceptional and beloved beach; wait for low tide to experience the most amazing tide pools. Nearby Hendry's Beach and The Wilcox Preserve attract locals, visitors, and energetic pups are always invited too! In the opposite direction, Shoreline Park and the stunning south-facing beaches are a coastal playground of activity and adventure to be experienced. Here for a special event at Santa Barbara City College It's a five minute drive.
There is no better place to settle in and live like a local than La Maison Mesa. "Bienvenu!" Welcome!
The house was super clean. The beds and furniture were very very comfortable. The hot tub was nice and location was good.. Not super fancy but really nice and comfortable. I would stay here again If I was in Santa Barbara. Thanks!
Great coastal weather!
Everything was great. I was just surprised there was no air conditioning.
The property was in very good shape. The only issue was that a bath towel and washcloth were shredded in the washer as they were quite threadbare. The property manager was notified. We also experienced quite a few spiders. The property manager indicated that this was a common problem in Santa Barbara, but had an exterminator at the property within an hour to treat it. Very satisfied with the quick response. No spiders for the rest of the stay.
Love the trail hikes at the end of the street along the cliffs & down to the sand.
Thank you for a beautiful and relaxing place!
I loved the property, the neighborhood, and the location. I have rented many similar rentals through other affiliates, and spoke with other family members that have rented Vrbo, but never have I had to use a property management company to do so. If I have to go through another property management company just to rent a Vrbo, I will not do it! First, I had to fill out paperwork like I was renting an apartment and completing a 12 month lease. Our family was only staying 3 days and 3 nights. I say that because check-in is 4pm and checkout is 10am with no flexibilty; ridiculous! I don't mind paying everything up front, but I also had to pay an extremely high deposit, which they tell me may not be refunded for 2 to 3 weeks. That is unexceptable; this day and age it should be 3 to 5 business at the very most. Technology allows one to process refunds immediately once it's been decided everything is okay. Most hotels release a hold on funds within 3 days. Also, I received an email stating payment, but never received an email on how to access property until the day of. I was told it was sent and to check spam mail but I never received it. I contacted them 2 days before to tell them I needed this information before traveling, but didn't received until day of. Very disappointed to say the least. The owners of the property should know they have a great place, but I would never rent again because of this process the property management put me through. Great place to stay for family, but be aware of what you will have to do to rent. It doesn't take all that to rent a property; I've rented many with less hoops to jump through.
