This is truly a special place for your Boston visit
The House
If you are unfamiliar with Boston, a real home with a garden in the city proper is quite rare. You will find that living in this unique space allows you and your companions to truly relax and enjoy each other's company. It has all the charm you would want including eclectic art, comfortable bedrooms, a fully stocked open floor plan kitchen and a wonderful deck and garden.

The Bedrooms
There are a total of 4 bedrooms, Three are on the second floor and share a bath. They have excellent queen beds with lovely cotton sheets and plenty of pillows. The Master bedroom with a king bed and bath is on the third floor. It's like being in a tree house because you have huge windows. Don't worry, there are blackout shades for a great sleeping experience. If you bring more folks, there is a single Ikea bed as well as two air mattresses if you need them.

The Kitchen and Garden
The kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need. Coffee and tea and perhaps a bottle of something fun will be waiting for your arrival. The deck off the kitchen leads down to your exclusive patio with a grill. If you have kids, the garden is a great place to play while the adults are having drinks on the deck. The place is so quiet that you can hear crickets in the summer. It's sublime.

Why Stay in Jamaica Plain
Boston has several distinct neighborhoods - each with its own flavor. JP is considered the hippest neighborhood in the City, with great restaurants, pubs, bakeries, parks and a subway line that takes you to the major sights in 15 minutes. Don't forget Fenway Park! It's a quick Uber ride away.

The Food
If you're a foodie, you're in the right place. You are only a 7 minute walk to the neighborhood center where you can pretty much get any cuisine that you want - Thai, Mexican, Cuban, Vietnamese, felafel, ramen, breakfast, pub burgers and old time meatloaf- you name it, JP's got it - even Scottish haggis. Third Cliff bakery is a new addition to the neighborhood. Get there early on the weekend and don't let the line intimidate you. It moves quickly. So many choices- go out for a bite to eat or grill dinner or bring back Thai takeout.

The Great Oudoors
Often called The Eden of America, JP has the largest percentage of greenspace per capita of any large city in the country. Take a walk from the house to Jamaica Pond or the Arnold Arboretum. Or go the other direction and run around the second oldest public golf course in the US at Franklin Park. It's also home to the Zoo.

Very clean and spacious with lovely decor. Pretty side yard. Close to everything. We rented both units which accommodated 13 family members. I would highly recommend this property.

This home was a perfect place for our group of 6 adults to stay. Wonderful walkable neighborhood and easy access to the train system to get where we needed to go in Boston.

This Jamaica Plain neighborhood is a great location for getting around Boston. The train and many eateries and parks were within walking distance. The yard space was very helpful since we had small children. This old home had lots of character and the manager was very helpful. The stairs are quite steep, especially for the loft primary bedroom (which was spacious and beautiful) - so this space will be difficult for older people and small children. The home is obviously lived in and the manager was extremely helpful during our stay. The owner's recommendations for the area were also very helpful.

Perfect place for our family vacation. Loved the location, all the amenities, easy check-in and checkout and friendly host. The only thing to mention for young families are that the stairs are very steep for infants. Host had baby gate and large playpen which helped.

Wonderful stay!! This was our first timevisiting Boston (group was from MN & WI) and this house made our trip that much more enjoyable and stress free! The house was very clean and spacious. We had 6 adults and it was absolutely perfect for us. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and places to sit in the living room/dining room to relax. The kitchen is fully stocked and has an outdoor grill. The owner is wonderful and responds very promptly and is readily available to answer any questions or concerns that come up. This house is in a perfect location to meet all your needs. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. It is a 8 minute walk to downtown Jamaican Plain. Downtown there are many places to eat, and a Goodwill and CVS pharmacy. There is a little grocery store (Happy Market) that is a 5 minute walk from the house, to get beverages and groceries. The transit system is a 10 minute walk from the house and will get you to all areas of Boston. The transit system is very easy to use and reasonable. (22.50 for a 7-day pass). We are so happy we did not rent a car and try to drive in Boston. Traffic is crazy and parking is even crazier! The transit system is the way to go. We always felt safe and it is clean. Long story short, we will definitely be returning to Boston in the future and will do all we can to stay at this place again.

Ideal for group of old friends to get together and do some Boston events where we all went to college in the early 1980s. Great, quiet neighborhood with easy walk to Orange Line.

Margaret was a wonderful host and communicated extremely promptly. Location was great, in close walking distance to public transportation and J.P. Downtown. We enjoyed making a cozy fire in the wood stove on a cool November evening. All in all a comfortable weekend with the family.

I wanted to bring my husband and friends to Boston to explore before we cruised to Nova Scotia. This property afforded us the opportunity to make some meals at home and play games as well. The old house creaks and has narrow steps as expected. Be aware the laundry is located in the basement down narrow steps. Margaretwas easy to communicate with. Yhe kitchen is well appointed. , laundry in the evenings.

Our group of 8 all slept comfortably, had everything we needed to prepare some meals, and used the living room, dining room, and deck to eat and play games. We parked our car on the first day and didn’t get back in it until we left. Everything was walkable or an easy Train ride to Boston—The Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, The Sam Adams Brewery, and all the other attractions downtown. It was a great place for a group to stay.

Very comfortable 4 bedroom home. We enjoyed the great kitchen for cooking, the large table to eat together. The master bathroom was very nicely updated. We enjoyed walking to the T and center street in Jamaica Plain. Parking our rental car on the street was also easy. Our host provided plenty of towels, linens, shampoo, etc. She was very considerate.

This beautiful home was perfect for our family vacation. Margaret was very helpful and kind. Check in was easy and the one time I had to reach out to she was quick to respond. The beds were so comfortable. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our morning coffees. The T line was an easy walk that only took a few minutes. The neighborhood was quaint and very safe. There were 8 of us and we had more than enough room. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful historic home in a charming neighborhood. We enjoyed our visit to JP, Boston and Providence over a long weekend. Wish I had designated more time to explore the arboretum a 10 minute walk from Margaret’s house. It was spectacular! Thanks for a great stay.

This is a great location outside of the city, close enough to enjoy all Boston has to offer but far enough to relax in this cute neighborhood. Food and parks are within walking distance. The weather was all sunshine but not too warm. Our host was so kind and communication was great.
