Brand new, very clean, three bedroom townhouse with state of the art appliances in the kitchen. Designed and engineered with versatality, precision and performance in every part of the kitchen. The townhouse is renovated with modern style decors, high-end finishings by local builders. This sun-drenched home offers a tranquil residential vibe alongside quick and easy access to all downtown areas!
The home was updated for the most part. The vrbo owner did communicate with us when prompted. House had 3 towels and my reservation was for 4 people. When I asked about this he gave me the code for the basement to go get towels from the dryer. (Should have been stocked) I figured out then that the neighboring duplex shares the same basement. This meant they could go into their basement, up my stairs into our kitchen due to that door not locking from the inside. Felt very unsafe there.
The owner of the property made me feel super uncomfortable and refused to give the Wi-Fi password until I told him how many ladies would be at the dinner I was having that night (which is weird) he wanted to make sure he could watch us and made us feel as though there were cameras in the home. The upstairs neighbor wasn’t listed on the site and is the owners family member (they called the owner constantly about us talking and playing music, they wanted us completely silent, they also kept stomping and jumping making an extreme amount of noise) they home was clean but the uncomfortable feeling, pettiness of the neighbor, and the constant questioning from the owner made me leave I’m still waiting on a refund that the owner doesn’t want to give!!!
September 2-10, 2023 We liked the location and the neighborhood, and parking was easy and safe, but we would not recommend this rental unit. We thought it was a house but discovered that it is a duplex - with someone next door and upstairs above us; no buffer for the noise. Though there are three bedrooms, there was one coffee cup - only one cup - so we had to go buy another coffee cup. While the description said it was air conditioned, it is not - it has one portable unit in the dining room which means the dining room is unusable because it is freezing in order for the rest of the house to be not unbearably hot. The weather was in the low 90's when we arrived and the bedroom was roasting - we had to go buy a fan in order to sleep. There was a lamp in each of the three bedrooms, but only one bedroom had a light on each side of the bed and one of those lights did not work. There were no hangers at all - only hooks in the closets - so we ended up buying hangers. There is a cocktail set up in the living room with special holders for wine bottles - but no corkscrew so no way to open a bottle of wine. The shower was designed well but there is very little water pressure and there was hair and dirt along the edges of the bathroom floor. We were denied access to the back door - the message sent to us said no guest access - not being able to go out the back door seems like a safety hazard.
Overall quick and easy visit. Missing a few simple items. But shouldn’t be a deterrence from the staying there. Just heads up Poorly supplied - no extra pillows or blankets. No extra sponge for dishes, small amount of dish soap. Only 1 coffee mug. Had to reach out for door code. Did not automatically receive. Did not receive a reply on wifi request & did see it located in house.
Listing was accurate. Would have liked better check in and check out instructions. No Wi-Fi code. Thermostat was locked. Overall it was a good stay.
Property was very nice. Newly updated. Close to downtown, DIA. On street parking only. No central air conditioning. Portable A/C units hepled. Very clean. Hosts easy to contact for any issues.
Overall, the place was not bad, it does look like the pictures. Everything is newly updated. The furniture is all new. There was still plastic on the cupboard doors and the silverware was still in the packaging. The listing says linens provided but there weren’t any towels. They had paper towels in the bathroom and kitchen to use. The neighborhood was ok and parking was easy. There is an upstairs tenant that you could hear but they weren’t terribly loud.
This property was ok and check in was easy. The neighbors were very friendly and my kids had a great time playing with the other kids while we were there. However, the description of the house is brand new with high end finishes. That was inaccurate. Maybe newly remodeled. However the kitchen was very poorly stocked, with very few cooking utensils, no cutting board to be found, and silverware still in a box. Also plastic dishes, a coffee cup, but no coffee maker. Also advertised as with air conditioning. It has a small window unit for a large old home. the bedrooms were HOT. No fans at all. Minimal pillows available. While we made the best of our stay and enjoyed the company of the neighbors over all it was not a comfortable stay. And we were there for hockey camp in Detroit. My son accidently left his extra skates. I sent a message about 30 mins after we left and was told the cleaning team had already threw them in the trash and the trash truck had came. I know it is not their fault we left them, however most places have a lost and found policy for these situations. And I think common sense should have kicked in not to throw away $200.00 skates. I was very disappointed about that. But seeing how fast the cleaning crew worked, 30 mins, explains why the house was less than what I'm used to in a rental property. And why I had to clean the air filter on the air conditioner to get even a little cold air. I think this house has potential, but the company should pay more attention to the details.
