I honestly don’t know where to begin to review this property!! From wonderful and fast communication with owners Lisa and Ray to a perfectly stocked and spotless house. The location is perfect. Located down a quiet road yet close enough to the quaint town of Dunnellon to walk to. We so enjoyed watching the wildlife as we sat on the deck overlooking the river. Loved the frogs croaking at night and watching the birds dive for their meals. It was so well stocked as well. We have rented other houses and this one is by far the best ever. We were greeted at the door by the owners. And shown the place which was so nice. They also had a delicious loaf of warm bread waiting for us. I cannot say anything negative about this property. Except one week was not long enough!!! Thank you Lisa and Ray for opening your river home for us to enjoy. Hopefully we will see you again soon. Your attention to detail definitely made it a 5 star stay.
Exceptional home and location. Everything you need is right here. The beds are comfortable, the deck is stunning as are the views at sunset. We saw gators and deer without even leaving the house. Lisa is very helpful and accommodating as we were booked to come down as hurricane Irma was arriving in Fla and we changed our dates to even better dates. I can't think of anything negative about this place and I know we will be going back.
Thank you so much Lisa for sharing your awesome home with us for our belated anniversary and vacation. The house smelled of fresh baked bread upon arrival, which was fantastic. George fished just about everyday from the dock, I was not brave enough to go kayaking with the gators....But we did go kayaking down the Rainbow River. Mid week we also took an airboat road with Capt. Bob which I had been wanting to do for a long time.( It was awesome!) We checked out a lot of the antique shops along with all of the quaint shops in town as well. Probably hit most of the restaurants in town, some good and some never again...LOL...But if you want a good breakfast you need to go to the Biscuit Barn. Once back to the house for the evening, we'd spend time on the deck till dark then played pool for hours. There is one acrobatic squirrel here...I was on the deck and I had just bent down to see past the tree branch to watch the gator coming down the river when something jumped from the roof to the tree...he went whizzing past my head (if I had been standing up straight I do believe he would have landed on my head) That would not have been good for either of us...LOL...This house has everything you could ever need for your stay and the owner, Lisa is an absolute lovely person and fantastic to deal with. Hope to be back sooner than later.
Quaint, sweet and tranquil
Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your home with us. We really enjoyed the lovely setting among the trees....saw deer, gators, and lots of nature right from the dock. The house was perfect for our group of 6 and we enjoyed the screened porch the most....watching the world float by. I will send you some pics so you can add us to your wall of fame!
This home is beautiful clean and peaceful. Owners are sweet people welcome you as you get here, fresh baked bread was ready for us when we arrived, baked by Lisa yummy!!
Property was as advertised. Great location. Fresh baked bread upon arrival. Very relaxing and fun filled stay.
This river house is such a cool house. The owners make the stay totally worth it. This house comes with everything you need, from the Kayaks to fishing poles and every household amenity you can think of. Lisa is a great host. Thanks for the homemade bread; it was delicious... We had a great time exploring. We went scalloping several days. The property accommodated my 21 foot boat and was 20 minutes from crystal river. Will stay again and will recommend to friends and family.
Our stay at the Charming Withlachoochee Home started due to a scheduled group swim down the Rainbow River. We decided to turn it into a weekend away from the kids and birthday celebration as well. The home couldn't have been any better! Lisa was so kind and quick to respond and accommodate us and our last minute decision to get away! The home is spotless and well furnished with every amenity you need! It is in a very quiet and peaceful nook of the river, but so easy to get into town if needed. We enjoyed the outdoor activities as well as peaceful rest in the evenings/mornings. We were greeted with a handmade birthday banner, homemade bread and a warm welcome from Lisa, the owner. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, eating and playing pool in the back screened in enclosure and even doing AM yoga on the back deck! (Ok, that was just me...but it was wonderful!) I am so thankful we found this gem and look forward to another stay soon! Thank you Lisa for making our stay so perfect!!!
The river house is in a great location an undeveloped all wooded section of Dunnellon. This is a bird and reptile lovers paradise! On a lesser traveled section of the river, not much boat traffic, occasional friendly fisherman. The deck and screen porch are the main attractions, nice pool table for those leisurely afternoons. A couple of great river tours available, and Dunnellon is an easy laid back little town. We enjoyed the outdoor dining at Swampys and Blue Gator. Several great breakfast joints.Golfers, play Juliet Falls, and Twisted Oaks! Plenty of room at the river house bring friends and family.
