Stayed Aug 14, 2025This property is amazing!! It is close to the center of town but also very quiet. We had 20 people stay for a birthday party and there was plenty of room for everyone.

Stayed Jul 20, 2025We enjoyed our stay at The Moorings and visit every couple of years. I can’t say enough about the house, cabins and the location of the property. It fits our needs perfectly. April is a great host and very responsive to any needs requested. Our entire family look forward to staying there and enjoying the Outer Cape. The location is in an area that has fantastic restaurants: The Bookstore and the Pearl, The Wicked Oyster, Winslows Tavern. There is a great playground down by the wharf, tennis courts and basketball too. All enjoyed by myself and family and all within walking distance. Wellfleet and the Moorings are the real Cape.

Stayed Jun 18, 2025I am posting because the many 5 stars reviews led me to expect much better management and maintenance than was provided. It turns out the owner asked me to only post 5 stars and to make critical comments only privately to her, which I did, in detail, and received no acknowledgement. The location and set up are fabulous and unique and our group of 20 for a weeklong reunion enjoyed the spacious and spread out set up and the picnic tables, firepit, view and kayaks. However, things were not clean, not well organized, the refrigerators did not cool adequately, hot water was not turned on, a defective toaster burned toast and set off the fire alarm, there is a hole in the floor of one cabin that could admit a small animal, some windows don’t work or have torn screens. Note that there is no air conditioning except for a few dirty window units we found in the basement. Also, renters are expected to provide / replace sheets, towels, soap, paper towels, etc. We had a good time nevertheless, but that depends on the good nature of the guests. All these problems could be fixed fairly easily and then this property would truly deserve 5 stars.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025Great location for bars, shops and restaurants. Property was perfect for large group. Main home is 150 years old, which gives it character, but also means updates are needed.

Stayed Jun 29, 2025The Moors was the perfect place for our family of 17 & 2 additional babysitters. We were celebrating a 4th July birthday, a 45th wedding anniversary, and the many summer memories of our grown children spent working as Truro & Wellfleet camp counselors, BJ’s & Beachcomber waitresses, and Wellfleet pond & ocean lifeguards. The owner was fantastic and quickly responded to all forms of communications and requests. The location was ideal for viewing the 4th July Wellfleet Parade, and every local venue that we enjoyed during our week stay was walkable. The ability to sit and relax in Adirondack chairs overlooking Wellfleet Harbor each evening was priceless!

Stayed Aug 4, 2024We really enjoyed our stay, it was our second time renting the house. We loved the beautiful backyard, the fire pit, the spacious wrap-around porch, and the view of the water. The location is amazing, with great restaurants in walking distance. The host was responsive and very helpful. Thank you!

Stayed Aug 9, 2024Excellent location, beautiful backyard facing the moor. Spacious property. A historic house. All great so far. Unfortunately the property is not well maintained. There was mold in the AC, sticky doors (eg bathroom doors won’t close), moths inside, overall unclean appearance. I would suggest that the host leaves a private property sign at both entrances as random people kept walking in to the property while we were relaxing. Also please be aware that you will have to rent the bed sheets, pillow cases and towels from a separate location and return it to that location before leaving.we did not know this when we booked. The village is very laid back and pretty and not touristy, yet without driving distance of all major attractions. Our dishwasher was not functioning from day one and was replaced the day before we left. So we had to hand clean dishes for 11 family members. Overall will say it is overpriced for the conditions.

Stayed Jul 14, 2024We stayed at the Moorings in July 2024 with extended family of 16. It was a wonderful stay and the owner was very responsive when we needed to contact her once. We really enjoyed time spent on the wraparound porch and at the water. We kayaked and played croquet. We walked to the town square dance event on the Wellfleet pier. While we had a great time, there are some things worth noting so that future guests can be prepared. It's a gorgeous, historic house and quaint cottages. This worked for our family, but it's not a brand new luxury hotel. You need to bring or order your own sheets and towels, and you will likely need to bring the essentials like toiletries, toilet paper, paper towels, bug spray, and hairdryer. We were there during a heat wave. Almost every bedroom had an air conditioning unit in the window, but one or two didn't. There is one refrigerator in the kitchen and 2 mini-fridges in the cottages. We made this work for a family of 16 by using coolers with ice for beverages. None of this was a big deal to us, but just want to note so that guests come prepared. Overall, a fantastic stay!
