Loved the lake home! Great 1920's cottage, decor, and landscaping. Comfortable beds. GORGEOUS kitchen! Lots of room for everyone. The sunroom was our gathering place for meals and cards and other games. The furniture outside offered us an opportunity to watch the sun rise over the lake while enjoying our morning coffee. We had six seniors in our group, so it would have been nice to know that there are 78 steps from the door of the house down to the dock. Although, it did get easier to navigate as the week went on. Also, the toilets are so low for seniors, especially the two of us with new hip replacements, so we brought along a toilet seat extender. Interesting spiral staircase in the middle of the house. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to a house that had not been cleaned, but we put our gloves on, and my niece cleaned both bathrooms and I washed and dried 4 loads of sheets and towels. I think the house needs a good spring/fall cleaning, and the housekeeper should be reminded to dust all surfaces. We had a great show by three pileated woodpeckers who were working on a log in the wood pile: my grandnephew said it was such a thrill. It was a lovely two weeks. I have been coming down from Alaska to do these trips with family for the past 15 years and this truly was my favorite lake home of all. I feel that there is some interesting history in this home and location. Would love to sit with the owner sometime and hear what stories this house has to tell. Thank You
We enjoyed a great week on Ox Lake. We were able to use all of the water toys provided including the fishing boat, kayaks and paddle boards. The inside fun included the pool table and late night poker with the son-in-laws on the poker table. The house was very comfortable for our family of 9 including a 1 year old toddler. Kent the owner was very helpful and responsive.
Our family group of 8 had a great stay at Ox Lake. Had everything we needed to have fun at the lake for a week. Loved the kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Would definitely recommend to other families looking for the full Minnesota lake experience.
The cabin had everything we needed. The location and setting was gorgeous. The recreational equipment was perfect for us. It was peaceful and quiet. Sleeping arrangements were good with comfortable beds.
It was a lovely lodge in a beautiful setting and our family had a wonderful time.
Great place for a family vacation!
We were very pleased with the home and its situation on Ox Lake. The amenities were perfect for us, including the selection of watercraft, the pool table, and the Netflix access. We had a small plumbing problem, and within an hour after we called the owner there was a very friendly handyman on scene who took care of the problem. Thank you, Kent Peterson, for providing us with just what we needed in vacation accomodations!
This was our second time at this property. We love it! It includes absolutely everything you need including the row boat, kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. We hope to make this property an annual tradition! Lots of room and fun for rainy days as well with ping pong, pool table, etc. The lake is crystal clear. Very quiet and relaxing enjoying nature.
Beautiful old house full of character, charm, furnishing and details that fit in just right with the North woodsy setting. Views were magnificent. Plenty of supplies. Owner responded quickly. Plenty of fun things to do on both lakes. Good location, close to Crosslake but still out in the wilderness. .
There is much to do at the Crosslake cabin. Nestled in the woods, there were kayaks, a fishing boat, paddle boards and a floating pad on Ox lake. We enjoyed them all. There was also many comfortable patio chairs on the dock to just relax and enjoy the loons calling or watch the Eagles fish. With a boat dock on Loon Lake, we used our 18' boat for grandchildren to use our raft and explore the many other lakes. At night we had a bonfire up by the cabin in the fire pit as many of us had S'mores for dessert. The cabin itself is large with many seating areas, including downstairs where we all enjoyed a few pool games, or foosball fun. The whole cabin is decked out in spectacular fashion with furnishings, a well stocked kitchen, and lovely flowers that attracted humming birds all day. My whole family loved the large cabin, surroundings and many choices of Lake toys. Very special place worthy of a vacation! Thanks to the owner who was very responsive to any questions we had.
