Chincoteague, Virginia
Charming rancher with a screened-in porch and large fenced in yard located on the famous Chincoteague Island! This charming family home is nicely located near town, and is within walking distance to the area's most popular attractions, to include restaurants, boutiques, and family fun. The nature trails of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and the pristine beach of Assateague Island National Seashore are just 4.5 miles away.
The Miller House was built in 1969 by our Great Aunt and her husband (Martha and Herman Miller). Martha, along with her 8 siblings, were born and raised on Chincoteague Island in the early 1900s. Martha’s father (our great grandfather) was a chicken farmer prior to the “Flood of 1962.” Many of the residents of that time either worked on the water or were chicken farmers.
Four of the 9 children moved off the island in the 1930s to look for work in the factories of Philadelphia. However, when Martha and her husband retired, they returned "home" to Chincoteague Island to live among family. The Miller House has remained in the family.
We are pleased to open our family’s home to you and yours. We hope that you have a wonderful vacation making your own family memories and traditions!
