This charming one bedroom space is on the lower level of a historic duplex, built in 1895 as a single-family home, converted to a duplex in the 1950s, and fully renovated by us in 2023. It offers 819 square feet, with a living room, dining room, bedroom, full kitchen, and laundry room where you can store bikes or other gear. There is ample closet/dresser space in the bedroom.

This space is best for for one to four people who want to have direct access to downtown, while relaxing and/or working remotely. We welcome families with school-age children. The building is on a residential street immediately immediately adjacent to downtown. The street is usually quiet, though you may hear some city noises from the larger streets nearby.

Other guests may occupy the unit upstairs, and you may hear them walking around their space from time to time.

Other details about the space:
-There are security cameras outside over the front door, over the side door,
and over the parking lot. The interior is not visible on any of the security cameras.
-The WiFi is typically fast and coverage is strong throughout the space. The desk is fairly large and could accommodate an external monitor if you travel with one. There's a great sounding Bluetooth speaker on the desk and a vintage-looking AM/FM radio in the dining room with audio cables for your phone or computer.
-The 4K Roku TV is set up with HBO Max and Netflix accounts. You can sign into your own accounts for any other streaming services.
-The laundry room has a full size stacker washer/dry and we supply detergent pods and dryer sheets.
-All windows have blinds for privacy.
-There is an AC/heat unit with a remote control, and forced air heaters in the bedroom and kitchen. Ceiling fans in the bedroom and kitchen help to distribute the warm or cool air.
-The kitchen has a full size range, microwave, and toaster, plus pots, pans, utensils, and the basics needed for cooking.
-There is a drip coffee maker, French press, and a starter supply of drip coffee.
-Extra pillows, blankets, and towels are provided.
-The unit is licensed as a short term rental with the City of Bellingham, permit number USE2023-0014.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire space. The parking lot and yard are shared.

We live nearby and we are happy to help out with any questions you have about the unit, or with tips about where to go and what to do in Bellingham.

Downtown Bellingham is lively and fun, with great restaurants, entertainment venues, and culture. You'll be a 1 minute walk to Aslan Brewing Company and a 5-10 minute walk to the Farmer's Market, Wild Buffalo, Mount Baker Theater, Food Co Op grocery store, Rite Aid pharmacy, bowling alley, rock climbing gym, yoga studios, museums, and everything else downtown has to offer.

The apartment is a 5 Minute drive to WWU.

In downtown Bellingham you also may come across people experiencing homelessness, graffiti, and traffic noise.

There is one clearly marked private parking spot that fits one standard size car. From the private parking spot to the side door of the unit is a ~25ft walk on a gravel/cement path, then up three steps through the side door. The front door faces the sidewalk and has three steps. There is often street parking available. The building is on the edge of downtown and is an easy walk to breweries, coffee, groceries, and entertainment venues. If you prefer to drive, there is typically parking close to downtown restaurants, businesses, and attractions.

The building has settled with age, and you may notice that some of floors are sloped.

Stays longer than 28 days require signing a rental agreement.

My wife and I had an awesome stay. The location is superb - you are right in downtown Bellingham, just steps from Aslan Brewing (which we visited twice) and an easy walk to everything from coffee to cocktails. The apartment itself is extremely well-equipped. It blends that historic charm with modern touches like the smart TV, a kitchen fully stocked for real cooking (butcher block table, French press, spices), and a proper workspace. But I have to emphasize: this is possibly the cleanest property we’ve ever stayed at. Like, ever.It ran a tiny bit cool temp-wise, but plenty of extra blankets kept us cozy. We can't recommend it enough and will be back!

Great place! Very thoughtfully organized and equipped. Easy walk to downtown Bellingham, with great food, craft brew, and Avenue Bakery very close! We would certainly stay again.

We enjoyed our stay & highly recommend this place. It was clean, organized & had everything we needed for our short stay. The location was perfect too, just a short walk to all the restaurants, bars & stores. There’s unfenced outdoor space to use, but not ideal for lounging.*There was a loud heavy metal party next door during one of the nights of our stay (5pm to 10:30pm). We were out most of the time of the party & we managed the noise until the loud music ended. We understand that it was out of anyone’s control & place no blame/issue on the host. But it did affect our overall experience that evening.

As the posting says, the house is both charming and definitely historic. It brought back memories of my grandmother's Victorian in San Francisco. It's well decorated and you can tell thought went into the remodeling. One of the best features was the location. When the owners say close to downtown, they mean close to downtown. I rented homes where close to downtown meant a two mile round trip hike. When you reach a certain age, that can become a problem. The location of this house is approximately a block and a half from downtown. Also, you have an assigned parking space for your car at the back of the property. And a real find, only a block away, was the Hammerhead Coffee Shop with great coffee and small breakfast items. Do try the Breakfast Biscuit served with homemade preserves. Wonderful! Across the street from the Hammerhead is a upscale grocery store which offers local fresh fish, plus specialty items of the area. All 'n all, we had a wonderful stay and Bellingham is a delightful town.

This rental was one of the best I’ve stayed in. The owner’s attention to thoughtful details, the comfortable and nice decor, and all the extra touches made me feel very welcome. It was a treat to come “home” at the end of each day. Also, the location is good as there is a great brew pub, coffee shop and bakery and grocery store all within a block! I’ll say it again, this is one of the best rentals I’ve ever stayed in! Thank you Adam! You’re a great host!

There are restaurants and a supermarket near this vacation rental, and it’s very convenient to walk to both for shopping and dining. From here, it takes no more than 20 minutes by car to reach the waterfall park, the beach, or downtown. The room is fully equipped, clean, and fresh. What stood out the most was the artistic touch in the decor—the beautiful wall art, the cute ornaments on the table, and the uniquely patterned dishes in the kitchen left a deep impression. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a few pairs of chopsticks in the utensil drawer—such a thoughtful touch from the host, and very convenient for us!
