Crested Butte, Colorado
Newly renovated historic house in a great location in downtown CB with a relaxed, contemporary vibe. (Town of Crested Butte Business License #008562)
Amazing location! You'll be two blocks from the west end of Elk Ave (main street) on the quiet, sunny side of town. The house is 1 block from mountain biking and hiking trails, 2 blocks from groomed Nordic ski trails, and only a few blocks to the bus stop, where you can catch the free bus to Mt. CB and the ski area. The restaurants on Elk are minutes away on foot, bike, or car, as are shops and groceries.
This historic home was built in 1925 and remodeled in 2020. It has lots of natural light, a newly redone bathroom, kitchen, and more. The floor plan is great for a family or friends to get away, get outside and relax. The spacious, sunny front porch is ready for relaxing at the end of the day. There is a large fenced yard and a shed for ski gear and bikes.
The kitchen has new appliances and is set up for cooking and eating at home. We have a good selection of kitchen items, spices, oils, etc. and tend towards organic when possible. We try to have an assortment of high quality teas, cocoa, condiments, and other items that you are welcome to use.
The house is set up to work away from home. There are 2 desks, one of which is an electric standing desk, and external monitors for work or streaming. High-speed internet. No TV, but you can use the external monitor to stream from your computer.
Parents of young children - the stairs are a bit steep and can't be baby-gated at least at the bottom, and the main heat source is a gas-fired stove. If you are visiting with small children, please consider if this is the right place for your family.

We had a wonderful stay at Michelle and JD's property. Communication was seamless and the owners were very thoughtful and attentive. The house was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in and also had some of the highest quality touches, from nice towels to heated floors to comfy sheets and beds to a fully equipped kitchen. As mentioned in the listing, the stairs are a bit steep and I would worry with little kids, but our 6 and 9 year olds were fine (and loved the feel of sleeping up in an attic -- not to mention all the Legos!) We were able to easily hook up a computer to the monitor upstairs when the kids needed some down time as well as enjoy the puzzles and games at the cabin. They loved playing in the snow in the backyard, too. The best part of this cabin, however, is the location. It is a short block and a half to Elk Ave for restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, etc., and a short three blocks to the bus stop to go up to the mountain. It made ski days a breeze and we barely had to drive for the 6 days that we were there. Crested Butte is such a special town and this cabin is the perfect place to enjoy it.
Location is perfect and and so close to groomed Nordic trails! Was a great size for my family of four as each kid had their own bedroom. JD was fantastic to communicate with and made us feel right at home. Love the history of the house and you can tell JD and Michelle have put a lot of love into it. Had a great time here. Oh - beds are super comfy.
My family and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had another great time! The house had everything we needed and we loved the fact we could ride the two bikes around CB. The owners are so responsive and helpful. We'll be back again!
The property, location and commication with the owners were excellent.
Our group really enjoyed the property!
This house is too cute and we were SO happy with it! We loved the upgrades and reading about the history of the home. The towels were super soft, the heated bathroom floor was amazing and it’s in an amazing quiet location. It was perfect for me, my husband and our 3 month old.
Charming old house that has retained her original form with the exception of a modernized kitchen and bath. Easy two block walk to Elk street (main) with shops and dining yet is a quiet neighborhood. Secure shed in back for bicycles if you bring them. We stayed in August so can't speak to a winter stay but was great for us. Our stay went well, so didn't need to contact the hosts with concerns, but they did check in on us once which was appreciated. Highly recommend.
This in-town home is in a great location in downtown Crested Butte. It is clean, great updates, and exactly as described. The location is close to everything but also quiet and private. We've rented many different properties and this one is top notch! It has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Crested Butte.
Small but cozy
We could not have asked for a better location and a more pleasant house. The host, JD, was easy to reach and very kind. The house is wonderfully appointed and clean. Thank you for hosting us!
Great comfortable home and convenient location to downtown
The house was immaculate, well appointed and we particularly appreciated the well supplied kitchen. The location is great, a perfect base for exploring Crested Butte.
This house is great. The downstairs is completely updated and the location is terrific. It’s close enough to Elk street to walk to any restaurant/bar in town.
This was the perfect small house for me and my three children. The kitchen and bathroom are updated and very nice. There is a washer dryer and nice sized laundry room. My son slept on the pull out sofa upstairs and my girls shared the other bedroom upstairs. There were games and puzzles for the kiddos which was great!
