Charming Bend home with a perfect downtown location, with easy access to everything Bend. Restored with craftsman charm, this historic home provides an unbeatable setting. Walk to the river and downtown in minutes. All wood floors and ceilings, living room with a gas fireplace and TV, dining room, updated kitchen, utility room with washer/dryer, central air and a back patio. Free parking for 3 vehicles, two vehicles in the garage and one permitted street space.
Thoughtfully updated to retain all the charm. Location is great and convenient! John was easy to communicate with and responsive throughout our stay. The beds are soft, which is not necessarily a negative, but was a struggle for us as we sleep better on firm mattresses.
I stayed here with my husband, sister and my 4 month old and it was such a lovely weekend. We walked everywhere and spent lots of time in the park. The house was cozy and well appointed. We will be back!
Loved the location. Will be back!
Great location near downtown and the river. Easy walk to food and drink. The house was charming and well stocked for our stay. Outside areas were inviting and provided a shady retreat to recharge on warm afternoons.
This location and neighborhood cannot be beat! It is a 5 minute walk into old town Bend through a gorgeous old neighborhood. The home itself is a 40's bungalow with tons of built ins and charm throughout. The beds are fine. The main bath has good lighting and a make up mirror that was great! We were able to park in the garage. I gave it four stars because the seating in the living room consists of a couch that seats 3 and 3 plastic chairs. The placement of the TV is awkward and wouldn't really be comfortable to watch. The lighting is gorgeous period pieces that unfortunately give very little light. The dining room is so dim we struggled to see a board game we were playing. A few, well placed, floor and table lamps would increase the comfort dramatically. The kitchen is very small and not outfitted to cook a meal. There were no measuring cups (except for a lone 1/3 c) or spoons. The floor is original and beautiful but it is very squeeky. You don't really notice it during the day but if you get up at night you wake the whole house. I'm not sure what could be done to fix that. The shower curtains in the second bath are cotton, with no liner, and get soaked with a shower. We had to collect packages for the owner which was fine but, with all the porch pirates, not a responsibility we relished. The yard is large and lovely but needs much better furniture I get the sense that this home is a project in the works and I think it will be fantastic but it needs some tweaks to get there.
