Coronado, California
Tastefully decorated, immaculate 1946 Spanish cottage – a romantic charmer! This 1 bedroom 1 bath cottage with large private patio is located in a quiet neighborhood. A serene, relaxing getaway, very quiet day and night.
This was the best trip to the beach ever. This beach cottage was centrally located in quiet area and it had everything you needed to make the trip fantastic including a barbeque which I specifically appreciated. We enjoyed daily walks on the beach that were peaceful and very scenic. We had endless fun eating at some of the finest restaurants in town to include the Stake Chophouse, McP's Irish Pub, Chez Loma Frech Bistro and if you like decadent pastries try Claytons Bakery and Bistro. The people in the community were very friendly and dogs are welcome in many outdoor eateries. Not much more to say other than we had fantastic trip.
Charming, easy to get around with transit Pronto card, nice neighborhood, great Host.
My wife & I truly enjoyed our stay at Lisa’s Cottage. The cottage is so comfortable and has real Coronado charm. The easy walk to Orange Ave, the quiet evenings were just what we were looking for. We will definitely stay again if the opportunity comes our way again.
Great little cottage in a quiet neighborhood and easy walk to all amenities. Private patio with lockable gate. Well stocked and very clean. There is a sofa bed in the living room but we didn’t try it. Coin laundry on site, easy to use. Thank you Lisa for responding to our questions and requests very promptly. Absolutely loved our stay there and can’t wait to return!
My wife and I had such an amazing time staying in this beautiful Spanish casita! We stayed here for the month of April and we had a fantastic time. The home is well stocked with essentials and the kitchen has everything you could need to make a meal! It is very spacious and we loved having the private outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful weather - we grilled dinner and ate outside nearly every night. The location of the home on the island is perfect as well - it is easy to walk to the bay, to the shops on Orange Ave, or the ocean. It is situated on a quiet street and the neighbors were all lovely. We would gladly visit again!
The small house is well-located in a cluster of similar homes on a quiet residential street. Downtown was a 15 minute walk and grocery stores 10 minutes away. There is a sweet little outside private courtyard. Although compact, the kitchen was well stocked and functional, and the bedroom comfortable. Sleeper sofa not so comfortable for sitting/reading
We have stayed in this general location many times and always try to return to G Ave. The private patio, great place to walk and enjoy the wonderful beach weather, and just the overall care that the owner has obviously put in to make this the perfect spot. We loved it.
Thank you Lisa and James for letting us stay in your delightful Coronado home. Your attention to details made our months stay easy and enjoyable. We loved our walks around the island and being able to come back to a darling and comfortable home! We would definitely stay there again!
Wonderful property extremely well appointed . Lisa was delightful to communicate with and had added some sweet extras upon our arrival which was so thoughtful. The cottage is pristine in appearance and function which made it so welcoming. Terrific location on the island .
My wife and I stayed here Dec/Jan and despite being in the midst of a pandemic, we had an absolutely lovely experience. Perfect for a couple, this is a 1946 bungalow, remodeled to a high finish but retaining the craftsmanship and charm from that era. As for cleanliness, it went beyond all expectations. Each drawer and shelf was spotless, perfectly organized, containing every kitchen tool or bedroom linen we could possibly need. All we had to do is, as they say, bring a toothbrush. This unit is part of a bungalow community built for Naval aviators right after WW2. Despite being near our neighbors, our enclosed patio was quiet day and night, protected from the wind and receiving a good amount of light for sunny lunches. We enjoyed being temporarily part of this friendly little community--even exchanging holiday gifts with our next-door-neighbors, a young military couple. Five stars for the like-new infrared BBQ grill, which we used almost every night. And five stars for the super-comfy bed, outfitted with fleecy bed linens that were perfect for California winter nights. The unit is ideally located in a quiet neighborhood on this very walkable island (actually, a peninsula). Most times, we didn't even have a car. It's a 15-minute walk to the Bay side--the Ferry terminal, grocery shopping, shops on Orange Avenue. It's about a half-hour walk to the Ocean side, where we strolled for miles along the beach. From the beach we could watch fliers make their approach to the Naval base while dog owners frolicked with their pets. Or we could follow the ocean down to the busier Del Coronado Hotel area, with shops and restaurants nearby. Some people describe Coronado as Mayberry, and that's just what we wanted for a Covid getaway. Occasionally we would rent a car locally. This allowed us to drive south along the peninsula's Silver Strand, to a state park featuring miles of ocean beach in its natural state and a bird sanctuary. It was perfect for walking with almost no other people around. We also used the car to explore other bird-watching preserves and natural habitats farther south, near the border--hidden outposts of urban San Diego. Hosts Lisa and James were super. They were always quick to respond if we had a question. And they had thought of everything to make our stay carefree and enjoyable. We've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, but this is one of our top favorites. We hope to rent it again on a future trip.
