Burlington Flats, New York
You will fall in love as you drive down a quiet country road to a picturesque home with a large friendly front porch overlooking country meadows that are filled with wildlife and flowers. The home is nestled into a hill on sixty acres of fields and woods that were once part of the largest sugarbush in the county with sugar maples producing thousands of gallons of maple syrup. The home is surrounded by perennials and sunflowers with blueberry bushes offering huge tasty fruit. Hike trails around the property and fish at Basswood Pond, 720 acres of state lands which boarder the property to the north. The home itself offers a bright updated kitchen and a cozy living area with two bedrooms and a bath on the main floor. The dining area opens up to a stone patio with outdoor dining space and grill for fun family dinners. There is a 4 person hot tub for relaxing and enjoying the starry country evenings. Back inside the upstairs has two comfortable bedrooms and a half bath with the finished basement including a bonus living space with TV, another comfortable bedroom and a washer and dryer. There is a child's playset and family games to keep the kids entertained. Please note there are honey bees keep on the property they are located a respectable distance from the home. As a bonus this very private home has exceptional cell service and excellent fiber optic wireless WiFi. We are a short 15 minute drive to Cooperstown. We are also 5 minutes from a winery and brewery.
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Clean, comfy and close enough for our baseball week at Cooperstown. Hosts even left us a jar of their honey to enjoy. Wonderful place.
The property surrounding this house was amazing! Extremely relaxing surroundings to return to every day after watching our son play at Dreams Park. The owners were very easy to communicate with, the house was well stocked and clean. It was a 25 min drive to the fields but it was worth the trip several times a day. I would highly recommend staying here!
The house and property are very nice. The hot tub was great after a long day playing baseball at Doubleday field in Cooperstown. We had 5 adults using the house and there were enough beds for each of us. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked for use although there were limited supply of glasses but plenty of coffee cups. The drive to Cooperstown and other baseball related places are within 30 minutes drive. We have been closer to town on previous trips so this took us a little bit to get used to, if you like some quiet afterwards then this works be fine but we would have preferred to be closer to town but it’s not a negative for the house. Communications with owner was very good and quick.
Great getaway especially with the hustle if you are traveling for Cooperstown!
We had grandparents, parents, tweens, and infants staying at the wonderful country home while our son played in the 12 year old Cooperstown Dreams tournament. I could not ask for better accommodations. They had a playground, small pond with frogs, and goats to look at for the kids. They had a hot tub, fire pit, beautiful old school front porch to have coffee in the morning for the adults. About 15 to 20 minutes to Dreams park and downtown Cooperstown. I would highly recommend this home if your family are staying for 12U tournaments.
