DOG FRIENDLY!: The house and the town are dog friendly. Woodstock is the dog-friendliest town we have seen. Dogs are even allowed in the library! There are many trails in town that you can walk the dog off-leash: Comeau Property in the middle of Woodstock, which has a long trail adjacent to the Sawkill Creek. There's also Big Deep and Little Deep which are 5 minutes from the house. Big Deep is a swimming hole in the middle of the woods. Little Deep is a trail also adjacent to the Sawkill Creek. There's a dam with a beautiful waterfall as well. This is also a good place to walk dogs off leash.

In the winter, there is skiing at 3 ski resorts: Hunter, Wyndham and Belleayre. We are 40 minutes away from each of them.
The pictures don’t really do it justice. The setting was lovely, the home itself was a great mix of charming & modern, fully equipped kitchen (!) and just a great place to stay for a long relaxing vacation plus so near to Woodstock itself & hiking trails. The weather was mostly bright & sunny so the house really shone but when it was overcast the natural lighting was cool & moody. Definitely my favorite place to stay.
The owners are pleasant and easy to work with. I've rented many places in the Woodstock area over the years- by far this property is the best! We were greeted with a delicious bottle of red wine left on the counter. Super clean house - excellent kitchen.. (Mindy left some tomatoes from the garden and invited us to pick some more as needed!) the grounds are vast and hug a forest. Extremely private place. And for me the best and a first... Mindy had two dog bowls prepared for my pup along with a bag of treats and a special towel to use if he got wet. I highly recommend this place for a couple or a family of 4 and definitely for anyone with a dog. Thanks again to Mindy!
This was our 4th time renting this cabin. It’s always been a warm restful retreat close to town and other attractions in the area. Mindy has always been a great host.
This was our second time staying in Mindy’s home. We’ve rented several houses in the area and hers is the only one we’ve rented more than once. The house is charming and comfortable and her property is gorgeous. Mindy is a responsive and gracious host who makes sure her guests have everything they need. It’s a great place for relaxing and unplugging. Will definitely stay there again.
This was our second time here and I have to say that we enjoyed our stay here even more this time. Our dog loved the back yard and mountain air. We had such a relaxing time in the private yard, that it was hard to go out to the other local attractions. Overall, the hosts have always been very warm and accommodating. We look forward to renting again.
We stayed in this charming cabin in mid-February. It was a lovely place to relax and recharge, and I'm sure it would be even better in the summer. We enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, the great wood-burning stove, and all the light-filled rooms. Getting to and from shops and attractions was easy, too.
We had two wonderful weekends on this property. It feels like a home away from home and we are absolutely going to return. Mindy is lovely and so easy to work with. My dog had the time of his life swimming in the nearby watering hole and playing with some of the local dogs. I almost didn't write this review because I don't want to share this little secret get away. I'll have to book early for next summer so that it doesn't get snatched up. Thanks for everything Mindy Robin Schlenger and David Sirois and Maru too!
We rented this house for a quiet Memorial Day Weekend with another couple and our little dog and absolutely loved it. The house is a perfect country house nestled in a lush and natural setting. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathroom was spacious and clean and the bedrooms and bedding comfortable. The big deck and screened in porch were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful country landscape. Mindy gave great hiking and swimming hole recommendations and was a wonderful host. Thanks so much for having us!
Amazing stay - Mindy was so helpful, reachable and the house was absolutely perfect!
We were hoping for a four day retreat in the Catskills looking for a relaxing cabin to unwind. This property met all of our expectations. The theme is classic French country side and the complimentary bottle of wine left for us was a welcome surprise. The property was very well maintained and the owners were very responsive to any needs or concerns. The dog friendly atmosphere made our vacation complete. I would recommend this property to anyone looking looking for a rustic French countryside experience in the Catskills.
