Charming ADK Retreat Walking Distance to Town and River

Lovely home perfect for our annual family trip. Melissa and Scott were amazing and such lovely people. The owner is great and take a lot of pride in their home. The Spruce Moose was more than perfect for me and my 20 y.o. son during our long weekend (3-night) stay. It exceeded our expectations! Check-in & communications with Melissa were easy and excellent. It’s very spacious and well equipped, updated & appointed. You can tell the owners take great pride in their property. We didn’t use the 2nd floor bedroom, which would be great for kids - just the 2 downstairs bedrooms. We used the front porch in mornings and evenings. Fire pit in the front yard and propane grill in the back. Quiet Adirondack wooded neighborhood. Close to Thendara & Old Forge. We always drove. Moose River nearby. Short walk/drive to Green Bridge where you can launch kayaks in the Moose River. We’d return to the Spruce Moose in a heartbeat! Thank you!

My family had a fantastic stay at the Spruce Moose! The house was charming and clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, there were fun games for rainy days, and there were thoughtful touches in every room to make the stay comfortable and convenient. The location is a quiet setting on a friendly street, private but still near lots of great attractions like hiking and the water park. We enjoyed seeing wildlife in the yard from the sunroom and spent time relaxing on the lovely front porch. Communication with the owner and property manager was great every step of the way. We can’t recommend this enough.

Beautiful cabin. Was more than we expected. Peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed the location and nearness to town. Host was thoughtful in message response time. Highly recommend! We are looking forward to coming back in the future.

The cabin was adorable and the perfect size for me, my husband, his brother and his brother's wife. The location was close to town, but felt like you were in the woods. We spent alot of time on the front porch watching for wildlife.

My 9 year old son and I spent a few days in the Old Forge area. This property was perfect - amenities, privacy and location were great. The managers of the property were amazing - available for any questions and helpful for guidance on visiting the area. A quaint, rustic, down to earth vibe - very comfortable!! We will be back!

Absolute pleasure to work with our hosts and their managment partners. Property was beautiful and the wild life passing by was nothing short of memorable. Property was very clean and well maintained, our communication with our hosts was very enjoyable and they made it their priortiy to be accomodating and ensure our stay was perfect. We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. We really appreciated the help from Melissa and Scott, the caretakers--they are wonderful. The cabin was clean and charming and provided more than enough relaxing space for us. My daughters enjoyed sleeping in the loft, playing foosball, and seeing deer in the backyard and a bear across the street. The location was very convenient to the grocery store and restaurants in Old Forge. Would love to stay here again.
