Stayed Mar 7, 2024We stayed at Cereus Vista with our friends while vacationing in Tucson. The property is just perfect for friends and families. It’s very well appointed and so peaceful looking out at Twin Peaks. The flora and fauna is amazing and the location is close in , but also out in the countryside.

Stayed Dec 5, 2023We were 3 couples that have been friends for over 50 years. The guys were stationed together while serving in the Army in the early 70s. We traveled to Tucson from our homes outside Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Philadelphia and the San Francisco Bay Area. Cereus Vista was just about perfect. The house is in the Marana area of northwest Tucson. The house is set back from the street on a 5.3 acres. Access was on a gravel driveway. It was a very private site with incredible views. The home is very close to the western section of Saguaro National Park. The home was built in 1994. It was well maintained in excellent condition. The main house with the two casitas was perfect for the six of us. We all loved the house. We would have rated the cleanliness 5 stars except we did pick up some trash in the back of the house. The major negative were the hidden fees. We were charged an additional $141 Vrbo Fee on top of the quoted $1,170.73 for 4 nights. The property is managed by Casago which is a 3rd party vacation rental property management company. It took over 6 emails and additional text messages with Casago to check in. Casago also charged us a $50 Pet Fee. Since we didn't bring a pet, I questioned the charge. After 2 emails, 2 text messages and one phone call I was told that the general manager would be in contact. I received an email that we would be credited the $50 fee. As of this writing, the charge is still on my credit card.

Stayed Nov 19, 2023Great place for 6 people and a dog to enjoy a vacation. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with dishes and utensils but i recommend bringing key items that you might need. There were plenty of towels including hot tub towels and dish towels. The views are spectacular. There was a herd of Javalenas around and a small group of coyotes. We stayed a week but would've liked to stay longer.

Stayed Mar 12, 2023The views, location to parks, Hulu, outdoor grill, and outdoor furniture are very nice. Due to spring break, the cost was increased significantly. After staying, the daily rate for that week was too much. As stated in prior reviews, the bathrooms are small with limited counterspace and indoor lighting is poor. The kitchen is adequately supplied, but for the price it would improve if a spatula, vegetable peeler, larger non-stick frying pan (the copper looking pans look nice but everything sticks to it) along with some basic staples (e.g., regular salt and pepper (not from grinders), flour, sugar) were included. The main bedroom's bathroom serves as the only bathroom in the main home. Therefore, all guests while in main home use this one bathroom or they must go back to their casita. The main bathroom would improve by having a full door instead of mini-western swinging doors between it and the bedroom. Also, this bathroom's door handle to the dining room needs adjusting to ensure it remains shut. This property also goes through Casago which adds on additional fees beyond VRBO's fees. For the additional fees, Casago should have someone take the trash to the street instead of the customer having to drive it down a long winding gravel driveway to the street. Also, Casago requires uploading copies of drivers license and credit card which they use to protect themselves from thieves. We have been renting homes from VRBO for nearly a decade and we will not rent a home again through VRBO which also goes through Casago. If the daily cost of the home was less and Casago was not involved, we would have rated this home a four to four-and-half out of five stars.

Stayed Feb 17, 2023We came to Tucson for the Saguaro Half Marathon. We had a wonderful time at this property. Cooked our dinner in the well stocked kitchen and enjoyed a meal with seven of us around the large table. The casitas were nice and private. The view is amazing and the hot tub was perfect to soak in after the marathon. Overall met all our needs and was so close to our daughters place in Marana.

Stayed Dec 12, 2022This is a nice property with a lot of privacy, nice hot tub, room for visitors to have their own casita, and the chance to see desert wildlife. It would be an even more enjoyable property if it was easier to view the yard without having to either be outside or standing at a window. And standing at a window is not ideal because they all have thick wooden shutters on the inside, which are probably helpful to deflect the summer heat but are just an impediment in the winter. There are also heavy duty screens that impede the view, which should be removed in the winter months, imho. We needed the handyman for a couple of small items and could not have been happier with the quick response and with the man himself, who was a delight. The casitas seem very comfortable but could use a lot more lighting. The shower head could use an upgrade; the shower is drafty and there is not enough water coming out to keep you warm, again imho. The bathrooom door could use a regular doorknob instead of the ball bearing closure, which is noisy when you are trying not to wake your partner in the middle of the night. The house has a beautiful view to the west, and is near a number of good restaurants and stores within a mile and a half, in addition to being near great hiking trails.
