Escape to my affordable oceanfront duplex that has stunning oceanfront views. Since I became sole owner of the East side of my duplex I have been doing updates every year. I have had almost the entire duplex painted from a tired yellow to soothing blue tones. I have put in new appliances, furniture, granite counter tops, resurfaced the tubs, put in a kitchen tiled backsplash, added LED lighting in the kitchen and under the countertops, changed out light fixtures in bathrooms, put in new vanities, put in a new air compressor, and many other updates. This year an addition has been started to add another bathroom so the house will a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom duplex. The contractors are also building a new laundry upstairs in the house. The addition is expected to be completed mid April.

The home has a bright, airy, cottage feel and is a perfect place to relax. Admire the view from the inside or step outside onto the covered porch to catch an oceanfront breeze sitting in one of the 4 rocking chairs on the deck. There is also a dune landing steps from the beach with a bench and more outstanding views. Due to Emerald Isle's restricted off street parking the beautiful beaches are never crowded.

Amenities also include hi-speed wireless service, outdoor shower and washer/dryer. There will access to two washer and dryers. The one inside the house as well as a shared one downstairs under the main living area.

The kitchen which has been completely remodeled since 2021 with new updates every year is very well stocked. There is blender, mixer, electric can opener, small electric food chopper, electric griddle, lots of pots and pans, lots of bowls, etc. I recently had the popcorn ceiling removed and dimmer cam lighting installed as well as a back splash and pull out drawers in the bottom cabinets. The doors were all removed and freshly shot painted.

Besides having a new laundry room upstairs inside of the house my guests have access to the downstairs shared laundry room. You may not choose to use the laundry room downstairs, but this room also contains some boogie boards and other beach gear that either side of the duplex can use. I keep some beach toys inside of the house under the stairs in a large plastic container as well.

Additional Information: Emerald Isle's unique location affords homes on the island both beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Our home is located at the end of a no-through street so there is no traffic. The house is located minutes from restaurants, shopping, golf, kayaking, movie theaters, fishing, biking, water slide parks, pickleball, tennis, basketball courts, an aquarium and many other activities. Other interests in the area include visits to historic Beaufort, Fort Macon, Swansboro, 1/2 or full day trips to Hammocks Beach State Park or Cape Look Out. (Both of these islands do not have any homes or commercial development and have great shelling.)

Rentals are Sunday-Sunday. There is a no smoking policy and no pets are allowed. You must be at least 25 years old to rent the property. Prices listed are for weekly rentals. Nightly rentals are available off season or last minute during prime season if a week opens up. Note: Rates are subject to change without notice until confirmed.

    We loved our time here with the whole family. The house, which was recently updated, was well cared for and clean. We had enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The location was perfect with direct beach access, and we loved the relaxing porch overlooking the water with rocking chairs for the group. It felt cozy and comfortable and we all had a great time. The owner, Debbie, is great to work with and she provided us lots of suggestions for restaurants and activities. We would definitely stay here again.

    We loved the Catalina cottage so much. The lay out of the house was perfect for our family. The beautiful picture windows showed off the ocean perfectly. The porch and the private balcony were tge best places to hang out. And no beach trip is perfect without an outdoor shower. They have a great outdoor shower. We loved everything about the cottage. And our host, Debbie was super easy to talk to and communicated easily with us.

    Absolutely loved this home. You could tell that it was well loved. The kitchen is stocked with the little things you need, like spices, and the pots/pans, dishes, etc., are well stocked. Beds are comfortable, and towels are fluffy. My suggestion, if you are traveling with teens, is to get them a bike rental. There is not much within easy walking distance, but plenty within riding distance.

    A nice house right on the beach. Well appointed kitchen with everything we could have needed. The dead end street has no vehicle traffic and very little foot traffic. The beach was quiet with very few people even with the public access right there. The duplex was very quiet with guests staying on the other side. Would recommend.

    My family spent an amazing month at this beach house in July. The house is right on the beach, with spectacular views of the ocean from the open concept living room/kitchen/dining area. It's a very short walk from the deck, down a few stairs to the beautiful soft sand of the beach. This area of Emerald Isle was very quiet during our stay, which is just how we like it! Debbie, the owner of the house, was exceptionally easy to work with. She had lots of great suggestions on restaurants, local sights and activities for everyone in our group. She was incredibly responsive whenever we texted during our stay. There were beach chairs, boogie boards and toys provided for guests to use during their stay. There were plenty of linens and towels for each bedroom/bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with pantry items and plenty of pots & pans for homemade meals. Our favorite fresh seafood market (Cap'n Willis Seafood Market) is only a mile down the road and has the best fresh fish and steamed crabs in the area. We put the kitchen to use most nights when we weren't dining at one of the restaurants in the area. After dinner we'd sit on the porch to watch the sunset and enjoy the beach view. Once it was dark we'd go back down to the beach to look for ghost crabs. We didn't turn on the TV once during our stay because there were just too many other things to do and we wanted to soak up as much of the beach as possible! We'd love to book this property again in the future!

    Communication was great with the owner. She was very quick to respond, never took more than 24 hours. The only negative of the whole trip was the AC was not working when we arrived. This was due to the drip pan being full. Once we reported it, she was quick to get an HVAC guy to the house. He drained the pan inside of 30 minutes and we were back in operation. The beautiful view of the ocean and beach access were as represented. The house is at the end of the street, so there is no through traffic. The house is not far from the local Food Lion, so getting food and supplies is very easy. The house is equipped with an outside shower for getting sand and salt off of clothes and swimwear. There is also a handy foot wash near the bottom of the stairs. Really enjoyed our stay. Would consider staying there again.
