Lots of peaceful walks and the pool was the bomb. Very central to get everywhere and castelnuovo beredenga was great town with awesome restaurant. Stay here if you want to get away from it all!

Stayed Oct 23, 2016We did a three generations trip to Tuscany so my husband and I, who live in the US, could have a fun vacation with our London son, daughter-in-law and their three children. The castle turned out to be perfect for us. The location in Tuscany is both remote, so you really feel like you are living as lords and ladies of another era, and yet just a short drive to a first-class restaurant down the hill, and fascinating towns around. Our favorite was Rampolano Terme. The castle provides well for a romantic stay, and at the same time was perfect for our family's needs, offering us a tennis court complete with balls and rackets, badminton also with rackets etc, bocci, bikes, ping pong and fuse ball. The pool looked lovely as well, but since we were there in late October the weather was too cool to swim. The owner, Diana, invited us for tea, which was a highlight of our stay. Chiara, who manages the property was consistently warm and helpful, as was also the young man from Sri Lanka who manages the grounds. The layout of the three-bedroom Guardia (guard house) unit was perfect for us, with a bedroom for each generation, plus a homey living room and a very large eat-in kitchen. In short, the castle was totally terrific.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Stayed here with another couple in La Fattoria - two bedrooms, one bath, kitchen & sitting room - & it was ideal, plenty of room for 4 adults. The whole property is stunning but at the same time very homelike, & the pool especially welcome during a long hot summer week! Very close to Siena & the hill towns of Tuscany if you want to sightsee, & a beautiful place to relax if you need a break from the tourist round. Chiara, the manager, is very helpful & happy to book tours, excursions & reservations at local restaurants. We look forward to returning!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were a group with complicated needs : a place for work, lot of rooms for different families and individuals, support for cooking, etc... It was a perfect place! Quiet, poetic, practical. A swimming pool in the nature, a large place for a large barbecue. We had breakfast and lunch there : Italian food is always a pleasure. Giovanni and Diana Coda Nunziante invited our group for a visit and presentation of the history of Montalto and Tuscany. Impressive. Alexander welcomed all our requests, made his best to provide an answer and gave lots good informations about the surroundings. Confortable beds, well equiped kitchens, views. The appartments were best in class.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We are still talking about what a peaceful and relaxing time we had at Castello di Montalto. Is enchanting too superfluous a word to use? The hospitality we experienced from the owners and the staff is just not experienced these days, not even for triple the price. Nothing can compare to a castle with over 1000 years of history and character, and yet modern enough for families with young children. You have to use the written directions as GPS is useless to find the place. The only mistake we made is not spending more time there.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969With a group of friends, I have just completed my fifth stay at Montalto, this time in Loggia. And again, all of my party found that our stay was excellent value for money. Warm welcome, helpful and informative staff, perfect location for exploration of Tuscany. When we weren't out sightseeing, we enjoyed the pool or the walking opportunities around the castle. The nearby village of Castelnuovo became our second home, with so many excellent dining opportunities and good local shopping. Once again, our enjoyment of the Montalto experience was underscored by the hospitality and warmth of Diana and Giovanni, and by the consistent helpfulness of Alexander. I look forward eagerly to my next visit, and warmly commend Montalto to prospective visitors to Tuscany. Michael (Australia)

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A group from Norway placed a conference to Castello Montalto in the middle of September 2011. We had a wonderful stay and the hosts were so friendly and helpfull. The place is great for anyone who likes quiet, walks in the woods and the good life in general.
