Acireale, Sicilia
Located on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Ionian coast, on lava rocks in direct contact with the sea, near the beautiful beach reserve Fiumefreddo and marine protected area 'Islands of the Cyclops'. From here it will be easy to reach Etna, Taormina, Catania, Siracusa, Noto, Modica and any other tourist destination in Eastern Sicily. The house is equipped with air conditioning, is composed of a bedroom with double bed and single bed, living room with sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom and terrace for 5 comfortable beds furnished and equipped. Ideal for enjoying the sea and to visit the eastern Sicily.
The home was located in a perfect spot for us to explore the hiking trails around Parco del Etna. Francesco and Lucia were always quick to respond to our requests. The house is well equipped, we had many meals overlooking the peaceful sea.
We stayed one week in the apartment in Pozzillo and had an excellent stay. The view from the terasse is splendid, exactly as the photos show. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is reasonable well equiped. There is a gate in the garden wall giving semi-private access to the sea. You can climb down the lava rocks and take a swimm (if there is not too much wind). It is a good idea to wear swimming shoes though (some are available in the apartment). Breakfast on the terasse was really nice. The communication with Francesco (the owner) was perfect. There was a minor technical problem and he immediately took action and solved the problem. You can easily park your car on the road in front of the house. Internet worked as it should. Thanks Francesco for everything!
We stayed with great pleasure in this cosy appartment, enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood and the beautiful sunrise every mornig, having breakfast on the terras. The house is well decorated with work of Lucia, who is an illustrator. Francesco welcomed us( a bottle of wine on the table) and is a very friendly and helpful host. The kitchen is pretty well equiped for preparing meals. The only thing we missed was a kitchentowel for drying the dishes. On walking distance there is a fishrestaurant in the small harbour, and a small shop. Although it is the end of october, the temperature was fine, so we didn't miss the lack of heating. It does have air conditioning, which you will need in summer. The terrace is situated north and east, so in the mornings you'll wake up in sunshine. thank you Francesco and Lucia for your hospitality
The pictures of the flat in the announcement give an very good impression how the it looks in reality. The flat is clean, well equipped and with an astonishing terrace view onto the sea. Also, the owner is very friendly and helpful. The contact was nice and without any problems.
What an amazing place, no sunrise was the same, great little swimming hole, fridge was a little dirty but nothing we couldn't deal with, Francesco hooked us with a nice bottle of red and an amazing tour guide of Mt. Etna, great neighborhood... pizza, pastry, cold cuts, fresh fruit and vegis. Great shower, washing machine all the comforts of home.... no more hotels for us
Great place to explore surrounding area (Taoremina, Syracuse, Catania, Acireale, Etna). Everything you need is there. Convenient parking in front of the property. We communicated with Francesco via WhatsApp and got instant answers to all questions. Thanks for your hospitality.
It was a truely relaxing time at the Appartment of Francesco. Drinking coffe in the morning sun, enjoying the sparkles on the water, practicing yoga on the spacy balkony/terasse, buy everything for daily life in the small supermarked nearby owned by Maria and cook in the well equipped kitchen. The Appartement is cosy and clean. I was grateful to find a full set of needful tools (inkl. a truely sharp knife!) and daily things in bathroom and kitchen like soap, oil, vinegar, spices, coffee, tea, cracker, noodles etc. for free use! The Etna is half an hour away and the most cultur spots are about in 1.5h to reach by car. Without car the appartement is not to recommend, since Pozilla is quite off. A question of taste are the soft matrass and the small shower cabin. The gashed needs an inspection, since two of four flames were not working properly. Anyway, this did not bothering me. Francesco is a very caring and nice host. I can recommend his place 100%.
We spent two memorable weeks at Casa Pozzillo and felt really at home. The house itself is wonderfully situated on the seaside with beautiful sea view, calm and safe surroundings. A car is indispensable. Pozzillo is a nice little village with friendly inhabitants without noisy tourists, an excellent place to reach Eastern Sicily attractions. The apartment is homely, well-equipped and comfortable, an excellent terrace and charming pictures make it special. Ideal for a couple or a smaller family. Francesco is an excellent landlord, helpful and hospitable. We are thankful for his support. Grazie Francesco per tutto, nostra vacanza era splendida! Cara Lucia, nostro piccolo nipotino piace molto i pesci nel libro, siamo grati. Tanti auguri! Edit&Gyula
My husband and I stayed six nights at the apartment and enjoyed it very much. It was the perfect place to relax. The aparmtent is well-appointed with a full kitchen (oven!) and a nice living room. The seperated bedroom is a very comfotable place. Nevetheless, the best thing is the terrace with its lovely view over the sea. You definitly need a car to get there, because it is far afield. Francesco, the landlord, is a very nice and attentive person. My suitcase got lost on the flight to Sicily. He helped us to get it. We forgot to buy garbage bags - no problem: Francesco came around and gave us some. By the way he fixed the WIFI. Thanks a lot for this lovely holidays!
Lovely apartment, had everything we needed. Pozzillo was a very pleasant village with small beach and harbour, seemed to have few foreign visitors. Enjoyed snorkelling outside the apartment. Note that others also enjoy it too - in July we were certainly not alone especially on a Sunday but it was never a problem! Great location for trips to Taormina, Etna, Syracuse. We did some evening restaurant reservations as recommended tho I think they weren't essential mid week nor if happy to sit 2nd row if it has a view / terrace. Thanks Francesco for very enjoyable first visit to Sicily.
