Casa Portuguesa- a Charming Ocean Front Renovated Fisherman's House (Sleeps 7)

We had a great time . Perfect location and a fantastic sea-view ! Who could ask for anything more ? :)

The decor needs much improvement, the house was very plain and basic and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. This properly required the renters to supply all basics such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and dish soap. This fact was not detailed on the VRBO site which was a big omission. However the location was absolutely perfect for exploring the Algarve region and Albufeira is a really great town!

This property is in a great location and has absolutely stunning views. It can accommodate 7 people easily and I thought the layout was better in person than in the photos. The view from terrace is beautiful and so relaxing to sit and listen to the ocean. It is an easy 3 minute walk to the beach elevator and on the quiet end of town, which we preferred. You can walk to the tourist center of town in10 minutes and if so inclined can walk on the beach all the way to the promontory that you see in the photo. At the end of the street are 2 fun little restaurants. The Iguana Café closes at 7:30 so if you want to have dinner there you need to be there before 7. Their charcuterie plates and the Greek salad were very good. Across the street is the Rossio. This is an excellent small restaurant. We went there 3 out of 5 nights for dinner and thought every seafood dish we had was excellent. You will want to make reservations for dinner in advance. The Digital Inverter Samsung air conditioning units worked great! I would give this rental 5 stars except 2 issues. There seemed to be a great difficulty in communication about our arrival. I got messages and relayed information back through email, home away messaging, what's app and text. I think I was dealing with both the owner and management company. However, once we arrived someone came to let us into the property in a few minutes. My only issue with her was she did not seem to have many suggestions for the area. She showed us the home and that was that. There was not much information in the home about what was in town or restaurant recommendations or information of that kind. Secondly, I was very surprised and disappointed to see that the only provisions the home had were dish washing soap and toilet paper. There was not even soap to wash your hands after using the bathroom. The management company said the owners chose not to provide anything, however, it is hard to believe that basic supplies that are left by previous renters can not be left for others to use, such as salt, pepper, olive oil and washing machine detergent. The very first thing we had to do upon arrival was get to the grocery store and this is the first rental I have had this experience with. If you choose this rental you will certainly not be disappointed with the stunning views and close proximity to the beach. Also, be sure to take the Bengali Cave Tours - we booked through Viators. It was great.

Spent five days at the beginning of August this year. Casa Portuguesa was wonderful! Centrally located.. 2 minute walk to the beach, five minute walk to the supermarket, 8 minute walk to the center of town. We loved the home. Everything worked. The air conditioner and washing machine worked perfectly! The views from the terrace are amazing, especially at night!! Even parking was not difficult to find within a 100 yard radius each night. I would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you!!

We stayed for 5 days in the house and very much enjoyed it. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival in Albufeira - even while it was a bank holiday! The house was clean and fully equipped - even a washing machine! The location is perfect - very close to the inner city center (500m walk) but far enough for a quiet evening on the outside terras, enjoying a wonderfulp view over the ocean.
