Casa de las Cruces: Mountain Retreat with Pool sleeps 10 near Scottsdale - Cave Creek

The home was stinky when we walked in and had spider webs when we walked in. Lots of rats and mice on outside patio plus mouse traps visible in the upper tv room (2). We only stayed an hour and got out of the hotel. Also had lots of rat poop and pee under the grill outside.

We traveled to Arizona to celebrate our 30th anniversary and my wife’s birthday. We wanted this trip to be memorable, It was that and so much more. This home has more charm and character in the half bathroom than any entire house we have ever been inside. This wasn’t our favorite VRBO. This was our favorite house, period. The architectural and design features, both inside and out, are stunning and shine in every area, room, nook and cranny. Every day we spent time admiring the details in this home such as the ceiling beams, the eclectic finishes, the bespoke iron work as well as so many small, fine touches you could almost miss if you weren’t looking. It was nearly impossible to process. You have to see this house to believe it. It’s not a brand-new home and there are some nit-picky things that could use some repair/updating but all very minor.As noted in the property description, there is no freezer available, only a large refrigerator. There is also a note in the property description that says there are exterior cameras that are disabled during rentals. We noted a camera looking into the house (back door), over the pool area and over the hot tub as well as what appeared to be two stand-alone plug-in cameras on counters inside the house. Perhaps removal of the plug-in cameras on the counters inside and simple covers for the ones overlooking pool and hot tub might be good idea.We were hoping for a memorable stay in Arizona and we weren't disappointed!

The architecture inside the home was exclusive and enjoyable. Home offers opportunity for hikes right behind the property. Slight glitch with the code given but was able to have customer service fix it quickly even though it was after hours and they answered promptly. Ice maker and exterior were not very clean but minor and not restricting the stay. Property is close to nice restaurants and cafe.

Doesn’t Suck!

It was a great get away weekend. The house is amazing and unique. Being located on the mountain in the middle of Cave Creek was perfect for our college reunion. I would say that the lack of a freezer might impact a group who planned on staying indoors at the house more than we did. There was plenty of space for our group to spread out, but also great areas for all 9 of us to hang together.

We had a wonderful time at this home. The property manager was readily available, and it had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for making our vacation experience so memorable

The house is a work of art while also being comfortable and conducive to fun and conversation! we discovered cool new things about it throughout our stay. It had plenty of room for all nine of us. So many details to admire and enjoy.

Property is a work of art in its detail and design. Clean and well prepared for our arrival. Largest inconvenience was there is no freezer. Just a large refrigerator. A few issues were handled very quickly and to our satisfaction.
