Cisternino, Puglia
Casa Cicerali is set above a stunning valley of olive trees and vineyards, 4km from Cisternino, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The property is a restored 2 bedroom stone farmhouse, which combines the architectural integrity of the original building with contemporary design. The house is semi detached but not overlooked. Renowned local architect, Daniele Corsaro, designed the renovations. Within the surrounding 5 acres of land, there are numerous fruit trees, an almond grove and olive trees separated by meadow and dry stone walls. A bespoke stone patio with swimming pool sits at the end of a gravel path for the sole use of the guests of Casa Cicerali.
If you need to switch off, reconnect or recharge this is the place for you. We have just returned from a 10 day stay in this idyllic location. The villa is spotless, the grounds of almond and olive trees as far as the eye can see with no other properties overlooking you just adds to the uniqueness of it. The pool is a great size. The location between Ostuni and Cisternino makes visiting these beautiful towns easy. This was our first time in Puglia and having the mix of visiting the beach and nearby towns but coming back to this villa has made it one of our favourite family holidays. Benita has been so easy to communicate with and always with a prompt reply. The local village has the best pizzeria, there’s cycle hire nearby to explore the back roads. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and hope to return soon, Carol, Robert and family.
A beautiful house in a peaceful location with lovely views across olive groves and valleys. The property was spotless and very well equipped with all your needs for 7 days self catering. The pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and an excellent base to explore the pretty white hilltop towns in the Valle D'Itria, we even pushed it with a day out in Matera. Benita the owners was very helpful, quick to respond to any queries we had, and checked we arrived safely and everything was ok. A good place for couples or a young family to have a quality holiday.
We spent a lovely week in wonderful Casa Cicerali. The house - perfect for a family of four - was clean and has everything one needs and more; the surrounding, views and pool are just gorgeous. The house is ideally located to visit Cisternino, Ostuni and the coast. Thanks a lot to Benita, who proved to be the perfect hostess! Just one tiny recommendation: a microwave oven would have been handy.
We enjoyed our stay at this pretty and cosy house, which was clean and well equipped. Our 3-year-old liked the garden and surroundings. The scenic location was quiet, but still very close to infrastrucure and many beautiful villages to discover. It was too cold to use the pool, must be great in summer. The pool is not directly in front of the house (but very close), which was perfect for safety reasons with our child. The host Benita was not present, but very attentive and easy to reach. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay at the country house in a beautiful countryside:) Benita was always very responsive and helped us with everything. It’s probably good to know that the water can run out and that you have to pay for the heating extra (which is definitely needed in November), but when we were out of water, Benita quickly sent somebody within a few hours. The place is perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids, very quiet and with a nice fire place inside. Be prepared to bring some wood;) Thanks for everything! We are definitely looking forward to coming back to his house. Annika and Jens
This was our first family holiday abroad with our 9 month old baby. Benita and Matt (owners) were really helpful before and during the trip and Lorenzo was on hand for anything we needed. The villa is lovely, all on one level (so great for a little one) with all the amenities that we needed. Loads of parking and you do need a car if you want to get out and about. Highchair, baby bath provided on request. The outside space is fab with terrace for al fresco dining and the pool looks lovely (although we didn't swim as we came early in the season). The countryside surrounding the villa is beautiful and it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, despite being a 25 minute stroll into the villa. The restaurants there are great, very good value and again very baby friendly. Highlight of the trip was the food and wine - absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.
We stayed here for a week in August and wish we had stayed longer! The farmhouse was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped, with a great information pack detailing everything you need to know when you arrive. We went with our two children aged four & six and it was ideal. Beautiful pool with steps in and a shallower part which suited the kids and with stunning views across the olive groves and valley it was the perfect place to relax. The location is excellent, quiet for when you want it and then close to villages, towns and beaches when you want to go off and explore. The restaurants in nearby Casalini are very good, great food (lots of it!), excellent value and very friendly. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to any queries we had prior to travelling and during our stay. We will definitely be returning and would recommended this property to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of Italy.
A beautiful traditional farmhouse with vaulted ceiling in a peaceful location with lovely views across olive groves and valleys. The property was spotless and very well equipped - perfect for self catering and al fresco dining, with delicious meals also available to order from the owners who were very friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant and pizzeria in the nearby village. Great base to explore the pretty white hilltop towns (great markets) or a 20 min drive to the lovely beaches. Good for cycling and the owner took my husband out for a day's tour of the area. We also spent a lot of time just relaxing by the pool, which my son loved. The owners provided a really useful guide to the area with restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed it so much we have just booked to go back again this year.
We stayed at this amazing house for a week in July, it is very private and very quiet and has an exceptional view of the valley from the patio, the surrounding land and the pool. We travelled with our 3 year old daughter and it was perfect. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed and a beautiful pool that we used every day I would highly recommend this house for couples and families with children of all age groups. It was a wonderfully relaxing week in an idyllic region of Italy It has a village within walking distance through country lanes that has grocery shops and a couple if very good restaurants.
We stayed here for 10 days at the beginning of April. The house is amazing (beautifully restored) with loads of character and in a very beautiful relaxing location. Benita and her family are incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us in every way they could. They could not have been any nicer or any more helpful. The house was pristinely spotless and every thing we needed was provided and more. The house is great for kids and really family friendly. They even very kindly allowed us the use of their child's bike for our 5 year old daughter and organised bike hire with child seats for us and our other kids. It was so great to have access to all their local knowledge of the area. Matt, Benita's husband brought Brian and I out on these incredible bike rides - we loved them so much. I can't recommend Casa Cicerali or Benita and her family highly enough. Beautiful house, place, location and Benita and Matt (and family) are amazing people who really went over and beyond to make our stay a really precious one.
