You will love this peaceful cabin on the pristine Upper Saranac Lake in the heart of the Adirondack Park. Enjoy the views of the lake, Panther Mountain, Chapel Island and Birch Island. The camp is 25 feet from the lake with 100 feet of shoreline. Spend time swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing and roasting marshmallows with your family at a campfire by the lake.

This two bedroom, one bath cabin on the east shore comfortably sleeps 4 people. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and sink for washing up and two twins in the second bedroom.

We provide two kayaks, and a canoe.

Chapel Island is a 10 minute paddle away and holds non-denominational services on Sundays during the summer. Paddle over or drive to Indian Carry and catch the island shuttle. Ampersand Mountain and Panther Mountain hiking trails are only a 5 mile drive away. The Adirondack Wild Center for the kids is nearby in Tupper Lake. The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, Paul Smiths College Visitors Interpretive Center, the Ausable River, and Whiteface Mountain are all close by. When you want some time in the village, head over to the town of Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake or Lake Placid.

Boat rentals are available in Saranac Lake at Lake Flower Marina, Crescent Bay Marina and Hickoks Livery.

If you are resourceful, I advertise on multiple sites, it may pay to shop around. Google is your friend.

We rent weekly Sunday-Sunday. Although VRBO will allow you to request any arbitrary dates, I will respond with a request for weekly bookings.

This camp suited my family to near perfection—not less than we wanted and, just as importantly, not more. From this camp, we enjoyed the fresh, cool air coming in from the lake; swimming; canoeing/kayaking; and reading while in the lakeside hammock. We also used the camp as a base for hiking and canoeing day trips in the area. We enjoyed using the fire pit and cooked using the grill. The cabin’s main room and master bedroom were larger than expected from the pictures. Dinner sitting around the table in the screen porch was exceptionally pleasant with the cool breeze and lake view. Arrangements were straightforward.

Only downside is that the weather wasn't a bit warmer so we could enjoy the water more but that just means we want to come back again another time. Beautiful spot and cozy cabin.

Amazing view. We loved falling asleep to loons and fishing! The stay was stream lined. We didn’t have to ask questions; all necessary information was provided to us before hand. Definitely would go again!

We were blessed with the best weather! It was a very windy start but cleared, allowing kayaking, hiking and ADK leaf color. The provided kayaks are Pungos - easy, stable paddle boats. We took them over to Chapel Island and down the beautiful quiet bay to see the old camp with incredible boathouse. The youngest in our group swam every day. WE hiked at The VIC, Newcomb environmental center, went to The High Gorge waterfalls, the ADK museum at Blue Mountain. The only caveat for Little Bear renters-no potable water. Because we were out and about most afternoons, 6 gallons lasted our party of 4 over our four day stay. All in all, Camp Little Bear has a comfortable old camp feeling, family friendly, right on the water and ready for days of fun and evening campfires under the stars. Oh, one more thing, be sure to look for the yellow wagon under the house. Makes getting your gear to the cabin easy!

The property was more than we imagined! The location is 100% awesome secluded and yet close to Saranac Lake and lake placid. The fishing was fantastic! Just a great place to decompress from life. We are definitely going to make this a yearly trip. Thanks again for the fantastic place!
