This house is lovely and has everything we need for a weekend stay. Nice kitchen to relax and make dinner. Great bedrooms for sleeping and luxurious towels aftre the hot shower. Clean, quiet and comfortable.
This well kept, charming home fit our group perfectly! Incredibly clean and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything. My husband, daughters and I commented through out our stay how happy we were with the place. We look forward to booking again!
My wife and I had mosquito bites the first but couldn’t figure out why doors shut windows shut and finally found window unite in the bedroom had duck tape around it and had come off allowing an open door to bedroom. I stuffed a paper towels in to block the holes a little to late I had 6 bites and wife had more. We booked this place because it had an outdoor gazebo which we planned on using since rain was predicted. The day before our arrival we got notified we could not use it due to the roof had to be replaced. I understand not the control of the owner but we would have canceled if we had more notice. Window units for AC worked but not very well. Owner did provide a lovely basket of goodies which we appreciated. the house was furnished with comfy beds both up and down appropriate towels and linens no soap for bathrooms up or down.
This property was pretty far from Rhinebeck on narrow unlit roads. It was ok in the summer but I wouldn't have been comfortable driving there at night (just me!). The positives are that it was clean and though it is cluttered, the decor is cute and I loved the painted furniture. Also the layout is very nice for family or friends. They leave very nice treats and the house is well stocked. The negatives were that the house is rather dark. Not good for reading or for putting on makeup. The insects were everywhere! Nothing scary, but many moths, crawling bugs , flying bugs. The main problem for us was that the steps from the parking space were blocked by a large thorny bush so that it was not possible to use it. Very problematic because one person had mobility issues. Also the A/C was odd and had to be adjusted often. We didn't receive final instructions for access to the house and had to contact them thru VRBO and directly. They did respond but our phones were unreliable on the road nearby so that was a problem. The constant rain kept us from enjoying the outdoors but it looked very charming and I'm sure it's enjoyable in good weather. If you're looking to get out of the city, this might work all right. We needed more access to town so unfortunately it wasn't right for us.
Lovely property WTH everything one needs to enjoy their stay. Warm, cozy and a kitchen to prepare a meal
We had a relaxing time at the cottage. Plenty of space for our small family. Property owner answered our few questions quickly. Treats basket a lovely surprise as were milk and eggs in the well-stocked kitchen. We didn’t use the s’mores set-up but we can imagine other guests who would love it!
Very charming house, clean and comfortable.
Everything was awesome! Cabin in the Cottage made us feel right as home (even some of the decorations were the same as my Mom's home - very unusual!). We were in the area attending our daughter's graduation from the CIA. We had a couple family members flying in and the house was a comfortable place for us all to crash after some very long days. Catherine was very responsive when we had questions during the stay. The welcome baskets were yummy and made it easy for us to get out the door in the morning. Thank you for your hospitality!
Beautiful home, lots of space for privacy or gathering in or outdoors for cocktails, games or just relaxing. The location allowed us to sightsee in every direction. Olana, Valkill, FDR home and lots of time to visit family nearby. Close to Rhinebeck for good food & strolling around town. Our hostess was the mostest. Kitchen stocked with all essentials and more. Gift basket with local treats was a welcome surprise too. Hostess was responsive to answer questions in advance of our stay. You won’t be disappointed.
We had a great stay here. Beds were all very comfortable. Kitchen is small, but was stocked with delicious treats from a local bakery (and coffee!). Nice outdoor area with screened gazebo, Adirondack chairs, fire pit. Easy access to Rhinebeck and Bard College. Would definitely stay here again!
