Butterfly Cottage | 2/2 Charming Cottage in Town | Pet Friendly w/Fee

The house was adorable, well kept, and charming. With ample outdoor space, multiple sitting areas and great porches. The bonus was the carport and long private drive for parking. Loved the great central heat and hot water. The greenhouse out the master bath window was such a beautiful amenity. Loved our stay.

Two suggestions. The coffee maker is slow and small. Think about getting a Keurig or Mr Coffee. We also suggest having a newer television set, and more Channels. The remote was hard to use, and we had a hard time finding movies we were able to watch. So many were restricted. But the place is lovely and very comfortable

Most uncomfortable mattress ever! Charm doesn't replace comfort.

We really enjoyed our stay in the charming Butterfly Cottage. It was quiet, yet close to town and lots of shops and restaurants.

It was good. Shower pressure was awesome. Beds were comfortable. Nice kitchen with 2 bedrooms.

nice atmosphere and nice back yard. Overall too dark inside. It would be nice to leave instructions for the TV.

My wife, daughter and son in law visited for a weekend. Beautiful little house close to the action, but far enough away to be quiet and still.

My wife loved all of the antiques and furnishings. The cottage provides surprising amount of space with two separate indoor living areas with plenty of seating for all. (Big plus). In addition there is lots of seating/living space outside! Close to town but not a lot of traffic. Systems heat/cool, showers all worked great. Check-in/out was seamless. Was there for 6 days. Great stay - would not hesitate to stay there again.

A very adorable place to stay especially at Christmas. It was decorated to the hilt which was set off by the antiques, fireplace, and greenhouse. The exterior was very guest friendly.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home! We loved the decor and there was plenty of space. We were able to easily find the house and we were able to get into town with only a few minutes drive.

Really needs WiFi. Also, please let customers know to bring soap & shampoo. Otherwise, was a wonderful little house!!!

We loved Butterfly Cottage! It was a step back in time, yet with all the modern conveniences. Close to Main Street and shopping, yet secluded and homey. We will definitely book another stay!

Loved the vintage charm of this home. Just off the Main Street. Walkable for some but a quick drive for those who don’t want to walk. Comfortable beds. Loved the clawfoot tub. Loved the 2 living areas. Gazebo is great for morning coffee❤️

Loved the decor and charm of this conveniently located cottage. Plenty of room to cook or just hang out. Backyard gazebo was a great place for wine and cheese.

The cottage itself was as expected. Very charming. Upon arrival we dropped off our belongings and made our way to Main Street for some dinner. After dinner we arrived back to the cottage around 9:30 pm. I proceeded to the restroom to find it used and not flushed. Neither of us had even been in this bathroom. Not happy I quickly flushed to toilet. The toilet then became clogged. With it being later in the evening I covered the bowl with a towel and shut the door. In my mind I would text and let the contact know what happened in the morning. In the middle of the night I was awakened by my dog scratching incessantly. I could not imagine what was going on. I told her to stop and lay down. Early the next morning she was still scratching. Upon inspection we found fleas on her. Then we found fleas on our own tee shirts. I then texted the contact given and told her the two situations. She was very apologetic and tried to come up with solutions. Calling a plumber on a Saturday was going to be disruptive. She also offered to spray the house for fleas. Which we contemplated and decided we did not know what was in the spray that could harm our pet or us. We just stayed out and about as much as possible. The opposite of why you rent a home to stay and be comfortable. The stay was anything but comfortable. Disappointed is the word.

Very quaint cottage and close to Main Street. The owner was so sweet and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. Beds are very comfortable.

A really beautiful home overflowing with charm. Had just about everything you need to make it a comfy stay. The beds/couches were extremely comfy, soft, and clean, and the bathrooms were also very clean and well stocked. We had a small pet and he enjoyed the yard and quietness of the house. The location is walkable to Main street, but the touristy area is a very long walk so it was much easier to drive there. The neighbors were slightly noisy, but not enough to be an issue and you can't hear them inside the house at all. Also, the back neighbor (not the noisy one) flies a good-sized confederate flag. It's mostly obscured by trees and a good distance away. Check In and Check Out were hassle free, which is always appreciated.

OMG, this cottage was amazing very pleasant and the town is amazing lots of winery and great antique shopping. The night life is not bad at all. I would definitely be back and would stay at the Butterfly cottage again. No need to bring a thing to this cottage everything you need is available. The upgrades to this beautiful cottage are amazing.

I'm an architect so I was especially drawn to the beautiful period detailing and woodwork in the house. The backyard and gazebo were charming — wish we were able to stay long enough to have breakfast or cocktails out there … next time! Great location too, far enough away from the busy downtown strip but still convenient to everything in Fredericksburg and areas around. We'd stay again!
