** PLEASE NOTE - from Dec 1 to Jan 15 Camp Tugaloo will be decorated for Christmas**

Where the meandering Tugaloo River flows into Lake Hartwell, where the night stars touch the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, where you can do it all, or do nothing at all, THAT is where you will find Camp Tugaloo. This new home sits just across the street from Lake Hartwell, with endless possibilities for adventure or just relaxing. Less than 2 hours from Atlanta, 71 miles from Greenville and only 29 miles from Clemson, this is the perfect weekend getaway or escape for even longer.
Our comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath getaway features a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a fun bunk room with a full/full bunk bed and a twin bunkbed. The main level features one queen bedroom, with the king bedroom and the bunk room located upstairs. Each floor has a full bathroom with tub and shower. The main floor bathroom features two sinks, a walk-in shower and a very relaxing soaker tub. Upstairs you will find a tub/shower combo. In addition to the 4 beds in the bunk room, this space is the center of entertainment, with a foosball table, a 65” smart tv and a table for lots of gaming fun! We also provide a pack & play (please bring your own sheets) and a high chair seat (that straps to a regular chair).
The fully equipped kitchen is complete with dishware, silverware, glassware, tupperware, pots, pans, cookie sheets, muffin tins, toaster, microwave, cutting boards, an Instapot, a crockpot, blender, oven gloves, paper towels, kitchen towels and dishwasher. If you need to feed your caffeine addiction, as we do, you’ll love our coffee bar. There is a drip coffee maker, a Keurig and a French press for all your coffee needs. There is also a teapot for a bit of afternoon self-care. Dishes for your beloved furry friends are also included as well as an ample supply of towels and blankets that are dog friendly for the pooch that likes to jump in the lake.
The 50” smart TV in the living room allows you access to our Netflix, Disney Plus and Hulu+ subscriptions, as well as local and sports channels – you can log into your own preferred viewing channels as well. Wireless internet is available throughout the home and deck. If you need to catch up on a bit of work or schooling, there is a desk with monitor, keyboard and mouse set up in the upstairs king bedroom. There are lots of games and books available for evenings or rainy days. Try your arm at some disc golf with our disc golf hole or challenge your companions to a game of cornhole.
In the morning, relax on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch for deer in the yard and the mist lift off the lake as the sun comes up. Enjoy some after dinner smores around the firepit while looking for constellations and shooting stars overhead.
The road and driveway are paved all the way to Camp Tugaloo. The driveway is on a bit of an incline. In the winter, if you are concerned about freezing ice, there is a parking spot at the top of the driveway. The parking area in front of the house will accommodate 4 cars, or 3 cars and a boat with trailer. You can also park your boat and trailer at the top of the driveway.
If fishing or swimming is your thing, you can head across Hwy 123 and access the lake for shore fun. The Stephens County Rec Area is about 0.5 miles from the house and has a free boat launch! There are also picnic tables, remnants of an old bridge and lots of opportunities for fishing & swimming. If you like to go chasing waterfalls, Camp Tugaloo is less than 10 minutes from the beautiful Toccoa Falls, about 20 minutes from Riley Moore Falls and Brasstown Falls, and less than 30 minutes from Tallulah Gorge and Panther Creek. For you history buffs, we are ½ mile from Traveler’s Rest and 20 minutes from Camp Currahee (of “Band of Brothers” fame). While you’re out, stop by Currahee Vineyard, about 10 miles from Camp, or one of the other 4 vineyards or 3 breweries within about 30 miles. Within a 45 minute drive, you’ll find other fun adventures such as boat rentals & lake fun, kayak/canoe rentals & launches, the adorable alpine town of Helen, tubing, hiking trails, ATV/mountain bike trails, horseback trail rides, whitewater rafting, disc golf, “real” golf, breweries, hunting, botanical gardens, Toccoa Speedway, Hartwell Wildlife Safari, apple & other fruit orchards/farms, ziplining & so much more!
We look forward to hosting you at Camp Tugaloo! We're positive you'll enjoy it as much as we do, during all seasons of the year!

We came to town for a wedding. Several family members stayed here with us. We had plenty of room, nice accommodations, and beautiful scenery. We enjoyed exploring nearby Travelers’ Rest and Toccoa Falls while in town. We highly recommend this VRBO as it is well equipped and cozy!

It was a cute little cottage. Had privacy, and only took 10 minutes to get to town. The room for the kids were excellent. When we was at the cottage, they hardly came down. Had the right decor to give it a home feeling

We had booked our stay for vacation time for my husband and I, with family gathering later in the stay to celebrate 3 birthdays. Then Hurricane Milton started heading towards us and we decided to evacuate. Luckily, the cabin was available and our Host worked with us, making our evacuation a calm and pleasant stay. The cabin was decorated for Halloween/Fall and was comfortable for just the two of us and for the group of us. We made wonderful memories @ Camp Tugaloo celebrating 3 family birthdays, and taking in sites nearby including Camp Toccoa, the Military museum, Traveler's Rest Historic site, Toccoa falls, Tallulah falls & gorge, and Brasstown falls with some fishing at the local park and Tugaloo State Park! Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay! We will recommend Camp Tugaloo to others and plan to return again.

We didn't get a chance to visit the property because of hurricane Helene but the property manager and VRBO were fantastic to deal with and their customer service and support was beyond what was contacted. Their understanding and accommodation for the situation says more about their quality than anything else.

Camp Tugaloo was perfect for our family and had room for more! The camp theme was unique and adorable. The kids room was the best... I mean what kid doesn't love a bunkbed, much less a TRIPLE bunk?? So fun! The house was stocked with everything we needed and was just perfect. Minutes from Toccoa and the college (the reason for our stay)... we will.definitely be back to stay again! Kim was a great hostess-- very responsive

Our family and friends stayed here for the weekend as we were hosting a charity golf tournament at Currahee Country Club. We were quite busy with that but had some downtime to enjoy the house and surrounding area. The home was wonderful, stocked very well and we would love to be able to enjoy the home again in the future. b

My friend and I stayed at this property on the weekend of 6/14/2024 while in town for parents weekend at Camp Pine Cove. The pictures of the cabin were super cute but upon arrival we were disappointed to find that the yard was covered in 5’ tall weeds. The porch and porch furniture were filthy and covered in bird poo, bugs and cob webs-not just a few, covered. The porch was totally unusable. The outdoor picnic table was filthy as was the area around it. We were looking very forward to having our kids over to the cabin to cookout but without doing a major cleaning that wasn’t going to be possible. When we walked into the house we found open bags of chips and food in the cabinets, cigarette ashes, beds that had been slept in with very dirty sheets. The towels were mildewed. The sofa was badly stained, etc. I contacted the host about the yard explaining that the whole reason we rented this cabin was to use the outdoor space and enjoy the view of the lake, which by the way you can not see at all from the cabin. There is a very busy road in between the cabin and the lake and no lake access that we could find. The host told us she would have someone over to address the issues but no one came. We washed the sheets, made the beds and washed the towels ourselves because there really wasn’t another option. We were on this trip to see our kids who we hadn’t seen in months. We didn’t want to spend our time cleaning someone else’s house, esp when we were paying over $400/night.
