Tarpon Springs, Florida
A stone's throw from the Gulf of Mexico, our home is in a quiet neighborhood centrally located to some of the best places Florida's Gulf Coast has to offer. There are countless ways to spend your days.......but.......if you want to relax and barely leave the house, you've found the place. Get some groceries or fresh market food, cook a dinner with some cocktails and music and take a bike ride to the beach to watch the sunset......then repeat.
Since this is our vacation home as well, we wanted to be sure we made it comfortable and inviting. We value a minimalist feel especially when we travel, so we kept things simple. A recent renovation includes a Saltillo tile floor throughout the house, a bathroom makeover and brand new washer and dryer. The 2023 new AC keeps the space cool even in the hottest summer months. It's a small bungalow-style house furnished with various pieces of furniture from our families, some of which span generations. The back yard is a jungle populated with native plants. Pack light and bring a book...or write one.
The house is located in Tarpon Springs, a historic Greek community with a unique Florida vibe. Sunset Beach is less than ten minutes away by bike. Nearby downtown Tarpon Springs and the sponge docks are filled with authentic restaurants, eclectic shops and nice people.

We enjoyed our stay. We have a home in Tarpon Springs and remodeling. We need a place to stay near our home and this worked out perfect.
Quaint home in a very quiet neighborhood. 10 minutes from Sunset Beach!
We had a great one month stay at this comfortable bungalow. The house is well supplied and in a very quiet neighborhood close to beaches, restaurants and Florida state parks. Erika was a joy to deal with and she responded quickly to our emails. The backyard is a quiet refuge filled with lush plants. I recommend this property to anyone looking for a home base while in the Tarpon Springs area.
Bungalow Tropicalia was very pleasant and well appointed. We loved staying there for the month of February and enjoyed exploring the Tarpon Springs area. Erika is quick to respond to messages, and both Erika and Sterling are very helpful. Looking forward to staying again next year.
The good: Cute bungalow, great location near what you go to tarpon springs for, sponge docks and beaches. Check In Was a breeze Very clean owner communicates quickly. There were no issues with the basics Now the not as good. The beds were not comfortable they were thin mattresses with no box springs under them. The bedding could and should be be upgraded. The backyard area is a tree area and has a ton of shade due to the trees have taken over so much so that you cannot even use all the rear patio area. It should be professionally trimmed and better managed. There is a thick layer of leaves covering the entire back yard area except for a small section of the patio. It is in no ways bad but could use professional trimming and some tender loving care. We stayed a month so our experience may not be what your experience or expectations are. The bungalow has all the basics that you need. We did buy a set of 4 steak knives and left them in the utensil drawer as there were only 2 sharp knives in there and they were larger ones designed for cooking use. The furniture was clean and functional but not first class by any means more of the thrift store variety. Lastly there were no shades or curtains for the patio backyard sliding door. The kitchen window ofer the sink or the large main door window into the home, the second and main bedroom had curtains that were sheer and semi transparent. The bungalow is situated where a side street intersects it so any cars coming down that street at night had there headlights shining into the bungalow. These window coverings could all be easily upgraded or provided in the first place . Overall the bungalow was a fine place if you are looking for a semi cost effective way to spend extended time in tarpon springs but it could use some upgrading in the areas mentioned.
Had an enjoyable stay. Shady tropical patio was relaxing. House was super clean. Host communicated well. Close to beaches, shopping and outdoor activities.
This is an older house but is clean and comfortable, the kitchen is adequate for preparing meals. It is in a very quiet residential area yet close to many good birding areas and is close to groceries and downtown Tarpon Springs. It is an easy bike ride to nearby parks, even for older riders. The small patio in the back is great for reading and meals. I would suggest an extension cord for plugging in electronics and adding a reading lamp in the living room. We would definitely rent this house again.
We had an enjoyable 1 week stay in this home. It was very convenient for visiting the sponge docks, and not too far away from homosassa springs wildlife park and Madeira beach. The neighborhood was really quiet. A very clean home. Bill and Marie from Western New York
The home is located in an excellent location. It is within walking distance to Sunset Beach and biking distance to Fred Howard. The neighborhood is very quiet and the neighbors are friendly. The home was very clean and had everything that we required. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Tarpon Springs. The owners were very easy to work with and promptly replied to questions.
We absolutely loved the cute little bungalow. I loved the furniture and wall art. We were excited to visit Tarpon Springs because we loved the history of the area and were excited to visit the many authentic Greek shops and restaurants. We also had easy access to beautiful beaches. We were also close enough to visit our family in Tampa and Indian Rocks. We were a bit disappointed that red tide hit during this time but we found a perfect beach at Honeymoon Island that was not terribly effected yet, so it worked out well. I would absolutely recommend this bungalow to anyone wishing to travel to the gulf.
