This was a beautiful place to stay for the week we were there. Very comfortable and the woodstove & pellet stove kept the house very pleasant. Though it rained most of the week we were there it was a great time of playing games, puzzling, and just being together. Highly recommended and we loved the Scripture carved throughout the house. Paul Landaas
This was a great place, we really enjoyed it! It is a gorgeous cabin tucked up in the woods. We really enjoyed the large kitchen space and living room. And a special favorite for everyone in our group was the built-in breakfast nook! It was a great place to congregate and visit as people cooked or played games. We would all happily stay here again.
Wonderful house, quiet location, I will stay there again
There is no walking to the beach from this house unless you are an avid hiker. Furniture was old and house was musty. It wasn't cleaned very well. Heating the house was a little difficult. Pellet stove wouldn't stay lit so we brought in firewood for the wood stove.
Nice quiet please to stay, very relaxing. Close to town & the beach
This is a great house for a large or multi family stay. It was a charming and lovely setting and the beds were comfortable enough. Highlights for us were: —plenty of dishes and standard kitchen utinsels. —There were spices and oils that you would expect to find in a pantry on hand which saved us money going to the store. —Fire pit was fun and the yard was beautiful. —Hot water always seemed to be present when needed with six of us —location was fantastic. Away from the hustle and bustle, and 2 minute drive to whaleshead beach with soft sand and a low traffic. —Filtered water at the sink was very handy. There were a few issues that we had that couldn’t be resolved during our stay, but I hope are resolved for future guests. —Fridge went out. We bought supplies like ice cream and ice that were lost. The fridge stayed cold enough to keep milk from spoiling, but it was never cold. Called it in, but no repairman was available. —Large oven didn’t work ( there is a smaller oven that still worked). We brought stuff to make pie, so having a working oven was an important thing. Glad there was a backup. Overall, a good experience, but missed a little on the ability to solve problems quickly.
We absolutely loved our stay! This property had a storybook quality and we were sad to leave when our time was up. No WiFi, no dishwasher, and heat came from the pellet stove in the basement or the wood burning stove on the main level. The main light fixtures don’t provide a lot of light, but there are plenty of lamps around the house that add to the charm. If you choose to stay at this awesome cabin, make sure to take paper plates (save on some of the dishwashing!) slippers, and your own pillow. We would absolutely LOVE to stay here again!
Many thanks to Lenona for her time and consideration. As one of our guests commented, I love this place. The location is secluded and mostly above the fog line. We had a lovely little deer come visit every night and the gardens and grounds are filled with scriptures and messages about God and love. The kitchen has ample space for many cooks at once and there are two seating areas, easy access for all. The bedrooms are good sized with plenty of closet space and linens. Same with the bathrooms. Despite being heated by wood stove, the house maintained its warmth and we did not have to build a fire every night. Comfortable even early morning for our 5 am yoga practitioners (on the living room floor). If you are looking for a spacious getaway, in the Samuel Boardman Scenie Parkway (basically across the street from the Whale Beach Viewpoint and close to the Whale Beach picnic area, great beach walking and sunsets), then this is the place.
It was a beautiful home but not for 4 seniors aging 70 -84! Way too many stairs!!!!! Seniors beware!
The property and house is absolutely beautiful and so welcoming and comfortable. I'd stay there again in a flash. The only problems we had, 2, the smoke alarm in the hallway welcomed with chirping but we were able to find replacement batteries, and, the toilet seat upstairs big bathroom had come unloose and was pinching tender inner thighs so I found duct tape and gave it a good secure taping. These are very minor glitches for an incredible place.
