The house is right next to the volcano. Very convenient if that’s what you want to do. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. The house was very clean and had plenty of space room for our family. The only noticeable problem we had was that the fire alarm decided to go off twice at 5:30 AM. Woke us up and we couldn’t figure out what triggered it. The house had vaulted ceiling in the living room and the alarm was right next to the ceiling line so we could stop it manually either. Also, no Verizon service but they had WiFi (satellite , so super slow but works). Other than that - great.
Great location, very close to the Volcano National Park and a short drive from Hilo. The house was beautifully prepared, and has everything you need.
Although we had a problem with our booking at the beginning of our trip (an issue that was worked out by Vacasa but not without some negotiating), the house is wonderful and gave us the space we needed to have an amazing Christmas in Hawaii! The house is clean, spacious and in a gorgeous area. We are not resort people and try to stay away from the tourist areas, so this house was perfect. It is about 40-45 minutes from beaches and Hilo, but only 5 minutes from Volcano National Park, so just be prepared to drive a bit if you’re not there to hike the volcanos. I think the only things that the house was missing were beach towels (so be prepared to either pack your own or buy some) and cooking spray or oil. Other than that it has everything!
The fireplace & large well appointed kitchen with dishwasher was great! Bedrooms spacious, house remarkably clean!
This is a perfect home away from home for celebrating an anniversary. The house is immaculate, roomy, and comfortable with convenient covered parking and entry for one vehicle. The house is nestled in the dense vegetation of the rain forest, providing plenty of privacy. We absolutely love it here and are sorry to be leaving. This is our fourth time staying in Volcano. We love the cooler environment and quietness of this remote village. This is the best location for adventures in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It is easy to reach destinations along the coast north and south of Hilo, as well as beach parks along the southern coast. Even the far northern part of the island is accessible on a day trip. As noted in the listing, stock up on groceries in Kona or Hilo, as shopping is limited in Volcano. With a little planning, you will have a great time here and will not be disappointed. Mahalo to our hosts. Aloha for now.
Pros: this house is spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. We had two parents, two grandparents and two teenagers and were very comfortable. Location is great for visiting Volcanoes National Park and the Hilo area. Cons: the outside lanai is small and the grill is rusted out. A few fans would help keep the air fresh at night when you need to close the windows so the frog chorus doesn’t keep you up.
This was perfect for our family of 6. Loved the location. Just a note there are no window coverings of any kind. The way the house is set back in the trees no one can see in at all but it would still be nice to have something on the windows in the bedrooms. But the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed.
Very clean, comfortable, and convenient. Excellent amenities. Very close to the Volcano National Park and the Winery.
On volcano. Isolated. House is larger than it looks. Clean
The house exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and the surroundings were beautiful. It came stocked with everything we needed, plus extras like flashlights for exploring the Volcano at night. The furniture was comfortable and the house was spacious.
Clean, well-kept 3 bedroom in Volcano with hardwood floors meant plenty of space for the kids to play around in. Nice extras included lamps, flashlights, and ponchos to explore the National Park at night or during the rain. Plenty of water, electricity and internet, but need to bring your own oil and condiments. Overall an excellent place to stay for a family.
