Tucked beneath swaying pines and framed by lush native landscaping, this cheerful 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom freestanding cottage is a hidden gem in Sea Pines' peaceful Night Heron community. Thoughtfully designed for relaxed, beach-oriented living, this home offers a clean, airy interior, charming coastal decor, and a sense of privacy that’s hard to find.

Inside, you’ll be welcomed by a light-filled open living space with hardwood floors and beach-inspired touches throughout. The living and dining area flows comfortably into a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing a post-beach lunch or casual dinner at home. Large windows and sliding glass doors bring the outside in, offering serene views of the forest and lagoon beyond.

Step out onto the wraparound back porch, where you’ll find space to sip your morning coffee, enjoy a good book, or wind down with evening drinks while listening to the sounds of nature. With no shared walls, this cottage feels especially quiet and peaceful — a true retreat.

The two bedrooms are simply and comfortably appointed, and the full bathroom has everything you need for a restful stay. A washer and dryer, high-speed Wi-Fi, and TV with streaming capabilities add to the home's convenience.

This home is all about easy living — whether you're heading out to the beach just a short 5-minute walk away, grilling on the deck, or simply lounging indoors after a day of exploring. The community pool is just around the corner, and the neighborhood’s natural setting, with its saw palmettos, live oaks, and moss-draped trees, makes every walk feel like a nature experience.

Ideal for couples or small families looking for a private, quiet stay, this cottage offers the rare combination of comfort, affordability, and charm — all within one of Hilton Head’s most desirable neighborhoods.

I had a great time here. Its clean and it looks like the pictures. Great location and quiet neighborhood. The cons of this place out way the pros though. It was a pain in my butt to get into this place. They need to leave the pass at the sea pines welcome center and not in the unit. I had to buy a 9 pass to get to my pass in the unit. They even said at the center they need to leave it with them or i had to travel to beach bum office. I had to buy toilet paper, trash bags and paper towels. They left 2 rolls of 1ply for a 4day stay with 3 people. Ive never had that happen before. Only one paper towel and the only trash bags were the one in the cans and an extra one for the kitchen. The lights on the back deck didnt work and we couldnt find a light switch even though it states there is a labeled switch. There were no labeled switches for the outside lights. The light in the main room was lacking and when we went to use the one on the desk the light bulb blew so we didnt have that light either. With the way sea pines is set up i did not expect this type of disappointment. I will be back to sea pines but i will probably not be booking with beach bums properties again.

The bedroom on the left had a terrible mattress. The kitchen was so small. You could barely work in it. The doors going out to the back porch are broken and would not work easily.

We like that Night Heron is across the street from the beach and enjoyed taking our Aussie. The place could use some updating and a thorough cleaning. Not a fan of a one bathroom and will specified my next trips.

We had a perfect one week stay here. The home has everything you need. It’s very well kept and clean. Short walk to the beach and near every good restaurant. We will be coming back for sure!!

Walking distance to the beach. Love it. The beds could use an upgrade but not completely uncomfortable. I would definitely stay again!

Night Heron is always our first choice for a quiet family vacation. This place did not disappoint. We loved spending Thanksgiving here, and we walked to the beach on Thanksgiving day. Couldn't ask for a better holiday.

Great time and location is literally a five minute walk to the beach. Nice area and close to a grocery store and other shopping. Dog friendly too.

I travel with my kitty cat Sweet Annie ! Jim was so helpful in immediately letting me know I can’t let sweet Annie out around the lagoon for safety reasons. Kitty cats and alligators don’t get along . Lol . Property was perfect and Jim had everything laid out and explained to a T. I def will rent it again .
